Chapter 2: Maddie/Kalani Showdown

Monday had arrived and at the studio, Mario was finishing up putting the pyramid up in Studio A as Abby walked in.

"Hey, Mario. Got the pyramid set up?" Abby asked.

"Yes, Abbs." Mario responded as Abby chuckled.

"Great. Question, did you enjoy the competition this past weekend?"

"I sure did and it brought a smile to my face seeing the girls dance, that was a great way to come back from my tour."

"Ditto. I remember when you were little and were dancing for me, you were dedicated, hard working and determined and you still are with your singing and acting."

"Those were some fun times." Mario remarked. "The first time i heard Kenzie's song Girl Party and i was jamming to it and in addition, i saw Sia's Chandelier music video with Maddie in it and she was fantastic."

"You got that right." Abby agreed. "Your sisters are making a name for themselves, they must be learning pointers from you."

"Yeah. I'm so proud of them." Mario stated. "So, where will we be heading next?"

"We're gonna head to Detroit to compete at Energy Dance." Abby answered. "Also, in case you didn't know, Maddie's gonna head to Los Angeles to work with Sia again next week for a charity concert and she asked me if you were gonna accompany her."

"Yes, i'll go with her."

"Good and also, Maddie and Kalani will be facing off at the competition this upcoming weekend and we're gonna have a group dance that's inspired by Orange Is The New Black."

"That's gonna be interesting."

"Yeah."

Through the week, they rehearsed and Mario was helpful like he was the week prior as Kira was delighted that Kalani was going up against Maddie.

The weekend arrived and in a Detroit, a city in the state of Michigan, the bus that had the Abby Lee Dance Company arrived at Walled Lake Northern High, the location of Energy Dance.

"All right, we're here." Abby informed as the bus doors opened and they began to get off and at the entrance was a woman around 41 named Jeanette Cota, who owns a dance studio called JC's Broadway Dance Academy located in Fenton with 5 dancers.and one of them was her daughter, Ava. Ava had first auditioned for the Abby Lee Dance Company in 2012 at the start of the 2012-13 dancing season and was a part of the Abby Lee Dance Company select team in the 2013-14 dancing season before getting the boot near the end of the season.

"So that's Jeanette aka the stalker that you told me about?" Mario asked Abby.

"Yes it is." Abby responded. "That's her posse and one of them is her daughter Ava."

"I remember you told me about her." Mario said as he, Abby, Gianna, the girls and moms neared the door.

"Remember, don't say a word." Abby sternly told the girls and moms before looking at Mario. "But you can if you'd like."

"Welcome to Michigan, nice of you to join us." Jeanette greeted and so did the girls on her team, but Abby, Gianna, the girls and moms just kept walking, but Mario waved.

"Hello and thanks." Mario waved.

"Who is that guy?" Jeanette asked, seeing Mario.

"That's Mario Ziegler, the famed actor and singer and the older brother of Maddie and Mackenzie." Ava replied to her mother.

"I'll admit, he does look handsome in person than on TV." Jeanette commented and minutes later, Jeanette walked into the ALDC's dressing room and when it came to a competition being held in a school, the classrooms would be converted into dressing rooms as everybody looked at her as Mario wasn't in the dressing room as he was using the bathroom.
