prologue

A/N: First of all I will explain about Monica

Third P.O.V

Monica callisto is the fourth child and the second daughter of Duke callisto. White silky hair like the moon and deep dark red eyes which seems to rival the color of the crimson blood are callisto trade mark. But,unlike them Monica did not have neither white hair and red eyes instead she had had blonde curly hair which reminds a person of warmness of a bright morning sun and deep blue eyes which seems to hold the raging waves of the sea with calmness

Monica's mother was a commoner who worked for the callisto household. She was a child out of adultery between the duke and the maid who disappeared after givingnbirth. She got her hair from her grandmother Lepis and blue eyes from her great grandmother from paternal side. If people look at her they would be mesmerized by her beauty but when they came to know from which household she came from some would look at her with pity, mockery or disgust but they never belittled her as she was still the daughter of one of the most influential nobles in Obelia.

Callisto household was a rich household for its mana production and the wine industry . They were also considered one of the most respected and righteous household in the obelian empire.

But,Monica knew better. She grew up mistreated by the servants and treated as wind by his her family. The duke had 2 wives but one of them passed away duringthe birth of the youngest Theodore callisto. The only person she considers as her family member is her younger brother Theodore callisto who is 2 years younger than her.

No matter the situation. Monica never pitied herself for she knew
If she did her life would become a endless cycle of nightmares.
That's why she trained her self until she collapsed from mana exhaustion.

She participated in the war at the age of 11. However, she did not meet claude or felix as she was sent to a different territory to fight the monster there.

There she earned her name as the whitch of the blue flames.
She earned that name because she once wiped out half if the monster army that was trying to invade the territory.

If you ask,Doesn't the callisto household know about this? Yes, they indeed know about this. As expected nobody was worried about her except for Theodore her younger brother. But,he didn't stop her knowing how stubborn she is.

7 years later :

It has been 6 months since she returned from the war and 3 weeks since the second prince claude de alger obelia took the throne.

Her maid aline was doing her hair. Aline was a illegitimate child of a baron . She had long wheat brown hair and lime green eyes and a slender figure. She looked to be in her mid twentie.

Monica remembers her first meeting with her. Monica saved her from a monster . Aline asked Monica to let her work for her with a down casted expression on round face.

Toc toc the sound of the door being knocked was heard by both the people inside the room.

Monica motioned Aline to open the door. She saw the head butler "The Duke wants to have dinner with the family as you returned from the war." He calmly replied to her. There was a pregnant pause of silence between them. The silence was broken by Monica saying .

"You may leave now"

If the head butler coming to her room didn't shock then this did the work. Why would the Duke want to have dinner with her?

As she thought looking at the setting sun through the window.

Her room had a queen size bed. A large mirror a closet and other things other noble lady's room has. (You imagine).

She feels that after coming back from the war the servants treats her better but they still didn't stop badmouthing her. She should take care of that.

"My lady, you should get dressed"

"Yes,prepare a dress for me to wear"

2 hours later:

Monica P.O.V:

Aline has tied my hair is bun .

I am wearing a purple colored gown with a leaf patterned design.

As I headed out to go to the dining place.

Few minutes later:

As I entered the dining room. I saw the duke sitting at the end of the table while my first brother Jake,second brother Rashel sitting on the left side of the Duke and my first sister Rachel and the youngest Theodore sitting on the right side of the Duke. There was an empty sit between Rachel and Theodore.

I sat on the empty site between Rachel and Theodore.

Suddenly the Duke stood up and said " I see that all of my children's is gathered here. So, I am making the announcement."

I had a feeling in my stomach saying that what was about to be said is not good for me.

I felt a hand wrap around my hand which was tightened into a fist it was Theodore. He must have noticed my demeanor.

"The Emperor is looking for concubines and a letter has been sent to us saying that one of my daughter would go to the Imperial Palace and become a concubine" those words were like a stab to myself I already knew what would he say next "after a lot of consideration I thought to send my second daughter Monica to the palace as my first daughter Rachel already has a fiancee "

The things that I dreaded the most were becoming a reality for me .

"Monica you are going to the Imperial palace tomorrow prepare your belongings a carriage will take you there. Don't do anything that will bring shame to the Callisto household.

Later that night:

"Elder sister wait for a moment ."came the voice of Theodore from the hallway after the meal.

"Yes, Theodore?"

"Are you serious going to the Imperial palace?"

"Don't worry too much Theodore." Monica caressed the left cheek of Theodore which seems to have little to no baby fat."I am not just any noble lady I am the blue flames whitch.What you should be worried about is how you're going to master this family. Beside, I would not just be a mere concubine for long. So, Sweet little brother you should take care of yourself while I am going. Okay? "

"Okay Noona. Still be careful."

Next day:

Monica P.O.V

today I got up early. Today I am going to go to the Imperial palace. I had Aline gather information about the other concubines. If I am correct then I will be living in the ruby palace , a palace for the concubines. But, soon I will live in the moon palace a palace for the empress. Where all the empress through out the history of the obelian history has lived.

A/N: I plan to cut it short here since the prologue is a bit shorter than expected so, Monica after a year spending in the palace proved her worthy and became the empress.

Anyway guys our twin protagonists are entering the story. So,get you popcorn ready. Sorry if the ending seems a bit rushed.
