"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it." — Mary Engelbreit
The school day finally ended and it was time to go home finally. I said bye to my friends as I started my long walk home.
When I finally got home from school I saw mom sitting in the kitchen.
"Hey mama" I said going into the pantry for a snack.
"Hey babes how was school?" she said looking at me.
"It was ok," I said walking over to stand by her after I had gotten a fruit snack.
Me and mom sat in the kitchen talking about a bunch of stuff I also told her Bill had left me on open this morning. She gave me a disgusted face when I said that. After she made that face my phone dinged. I looked up at my mom after that to see a big smirk on her face.
"Is that him?" I looked at her and rolled my eyes while laughing. I looked at my phone to see who had texted me only to see Bill's name on my phone.
"Yeah," I replied turning my phone off which caused Mom to give me a weird look.
"You're not gonna answer him?"She said.
"Uh no he left me on seen for a while so I'm not gonna answer him back fast I don't wanna seem desperate like I was waiting for his text," I said looking at her.
"But you are desperate." She said looking at me with a serious face. I just sat there looking at her with my mouth open wide.
"Damn don't have to call me out like that," I said and we both busted into laughter.
"Ima go to my room and work on some homework," I said hugging her and walking away.
"Are you sure you can do your homework with lover boy on your mind?" Mom hollers to me laughing. I start to shake my head as I flip her off while walking away which made her laugh even harder.
Hey yall I decided to do a small little wholesome one with mom so I hope you like it:)
