Thank God you came home today.

In the dead of the night, I saw the lights flicker open in the hallway under the door crack. Why was I still wide awake, you might ask? I hadn't been able to sleep at night ever since you had left. Every night, I would stay up late, staring at our photo books, flipping through every page filled with polaroids.

Warily, I got up to open the door. I twisted the door knob. The door creaked open, revealing your tall figure.

"Ni-ki?" I called your name softly, scared that you might ignore me.

You turned around. You seemed tired but other than that, you seemed to look okay. "Hey Miso," you said softly.

Hearing the nickname you had given me would usually thrill me, but I only felt fear and nervousness.

"Ni-ki-" I hugged you for dear life, relieved that you were safe. I felt you tense up a bit but eventually you relaxed.

"Did I wake you up?" you whisper into my ear.

I shook my head. "I was awake the entire time."

You pressed a small kiss on my forehead. "I'm sorry, Miso," you apologized, caressing my cheeks gently. "I shouldn't have yelled at you. I don't know why I lied about running errands." You raked your hair back. "I can't believe I forgot about our anniversary-"

I shushed you as I tiptoed and pecked your lips."It's okay, Ni-ki. What matters now is that you're here with me." I smiled. "In fact, I should be the one apologizing. I shouldn't have been so clingy." I nudged you gently. "Let's go to sleep, okay Riki? It's been a long day."

You nodded your head slowly. Your head drooped sideways tiredly. Tenderly, I led you to our bedroom, where you flopped into the bed.

"Do you want to take a shower? Or at least change?" I ask worriedly.

You shook your head wordlessly. I gingerly coveted you with our duvet and smiled. "Goodnight, Ni-ki." I whisper, about to walk away only when I was stopped by a hand gripping on my wrist.

Looking back, I frown in confusion. "Do you need anything?"

"You." You answered plainly, causing my cheeks to blush uncontrollably. You grinned cheekily at my reaction and patted the space next to him. "Join me please?" you pleaded.

I sigh. "I need to wash the dishes-"

"You can do that tomorrow." You mumbled, pouting slightly.

I paused. "Is this clingy Riki, I see?" I teased. Smiling, I crawled into bed, only for you to face me and immediately latch onto me like a koala, cuddling me tightly.

"Maybe." You murmur into my ear. You snuggled your head into my shoulder. "You're warm."

"Goodnight to you too, Riki."
