"Good morning, sleepyheads! Time to rise and shine!"

The heavy curtains were pulled back, and the bright mid-morning sunshine allowed fully into the room. Two small children screwed up their eyes and shrieked.

"Mum! No!"

"Ohhhh, daylight! No!"

Diana laughed as she watched them sit up, blissfully unselfconscious for the few seconds as they came to. Suddenly, they looked at each other, looked at her, and dived back under the covers, giggling.

"Breakfast is on the way. You'd better get dressed and be up before it gets here." she laughed and shook her head. This wasn't the most compromising situation she'd ever seen Tom in, but it was a first for a very long time. The two lumps in the bed mumbled something resembling 'ok', and she retreated, still laughing.

The door clicked shut, silence descending. Silence broken by sniggering. Then, soft laughter, then as hysteria took hold, loud convulsing eye watering laughter.

"Oh my god! That... that..." Eve could barely breathe."That was your MUM? Oh my God!"

"Yes... yes, poor woman. She hasn't seen... seen... in the buff... for a long time." He lay back, snorting his laughter into the hands that covered his face.

"YOU in the buff? YOU? What about ME?" She screeched. "She hasn't even met me!" Eve's face was as red as a tomato. Tom looked across from between his fingers. Before he could answer, Eve gasped as it hit her. "Wait a minute!? What's she doing here? When...?"

Tom pulled her over to him and kissed her soundly. "That, my darling, was one of the things we had to talk about today. I called her when you... weren't..."

"Lucid? Sane?" She said with a small smile, taking his hand and threading her fingers through his. He shook his head.

"WELL, darling. When you weren't well." He smiled softly. "I needed someone to help me, sweetheart, so I could help you." He stroked her cheek,"and I will do whatever it takes to do that." He leaned down and kissed her again, this time slowly and deliberately. His hands slid from hers to around her back, pulling her close. The heat of his naked body radiating to her, making her strain to press against him.

Her hands slid around his neck, and she whispered softly. "Im so grateful, Tom." She moved her mouth to his ear, taking the lobe between her teeth and gently biting, making him groan.

"If your mum wasn't here, I'd show you exactly how grateful."

"If my mum wasn't here, love....." he pushed her back onto the bed and crushed her beneath him. He pushed a knee between hers and lay down, his body pressed to hers. "Oh Eve, I want you so much." He kissed her hungrily, their bodies automatically moving against one another.

She could feel herself falling into the abyss again. The one where they had woken earlier that morning, silent and watchful. Unspoken but undeniable desire driving them, each had taken the other's clothes off, relishing the feel of their fingers on naked skin, the heat of their mouths as they tasted and explored.

A consummation of the feelings that had built up. Silently, slowly, they had moved and loved and shared their final high in the dawn's light. As the sun finally broke over the horizon, they lay spent and content in each other's arms. It was sleeping again in that content and loving grasp, that his mum had discovered them.

Now, with a superhuman show of restraint, he tore himself from her arms and the bed. Shoving his trousers on, he grabbed his jumper and padded to the door. "I'll go and keep mum company, you take your time love, there's no rush." He blew her a kiss, and she grabbed it, pressing her hand to her lips where she lay.
