Chapter 2 : Boston Girl

I have been working for more or less two months at Fitchley & Bradley firm.
So far it is good but lately, it has come to my attention that i never met Mr Bradley and Mr Fitchley. Actually, one time i met Mr Fitchley at a meeting. i was invited by Joséphine to join the conference room and here, I met Mr Fitchley. When i saw him through the video, i immediately though that he was thirty one or thirty two. He had a ring and he was handsome. While he was talking, i was trying to hide my goofy manners behind the table, however, Mr Fitchley stopped talking and looked at me.
Mr Fitchley: Who are you?
Joséphine Leblanc. She is my new assistant Thomas. Her name is Esmeralda and she is from Boston. It is her first time in the big apple.
Mr Fitchley: Well Good Morning Boston girl, I hope you like base ball and basket-ball miss Esmeralda? We have great teams.
Joséphine Leblanc: Thomas, don't you start over here! I see you ! Behave!
Mr Fitchley: We are pleased to have, but, please stop giggling on your chair.

I blushed right away.

Mr Fitchley: Where is Mr Bradley?
Joséphine Leblanc: I guess, he must be on vacation somewhere in the Bahamas or may be St Tropez?
Mr Fitchley: Andrew Bradley, he is completely out of his mind, im telling you . Josephine, we need to talk. Thank you all to have come and listened to me. You are all very good. Josephine and Esmeralda, please.

Everyone left the room center. At this moment, i felt the pressure, my heart was beating fast and i felt chest pain at the same time. i sighed not because i was exhausted but I was scared. Once, everyone left, Mr Fitchley addressed to Joséphine a special request.

Mr Fitchley: Joséphine, you know I consider Mr Bradley as my brother, we grew up together here in New York. When we were young, we used to play Base ball. We had the same bedroom at NYU... College was the best time!
Joséphine Leblanc: Yes, but what is your point?
Mr Fitchley: As you can see, our firm has decreased gradually over the year...I mean financially Everyone is aware of it. Not only it bothers me but it bothers my father. Do I have to remind you that my father is the founder of this company? He cries at night! People laugh at him when he goes to restaurants, they throw him dark look too when he assist to trials. They all know, but what? What?
Jospéhine: They know that Andrew Bradley is your brother. Your father had a secret relationship with Miss Bradley, who is the wife of the president of the congress. But, what can we do? Thomas, let's me onwards.
Mr Fitchley: I can't stand him. Let's make a plan to remove him.
Jospehine Leblanc: We have discussed about this before, and your brother or whatever you like to call him, is now in controlled of more than 80% of this firm. He could eventually fired all of us... Now if you excuse me, my assistant and I have works to do.
Mr Fitchley: Boston girl, you haven't heard anything.
Me: Yes sir!

Mr Fitchley interrupted the conversation.
Josephine Leblanc: Oh boy, I think we are in trouble Esmeralda.
Me: Why?
Josephine Leblanc: Because men like to fight until blood comes out otherwise it is not fun. It is natural, no one has ever understood why... I guess it is more exciting to see blood, right?

I didnt answer.

Josephine Leblanc: Welcome to New York! Let's go for lunch and then work.

During the lunch, Esmeralda stayed silent. She was confused and a bit overwhelmed.

Joséphine Leblanc: Don't even think too much about it...
Me: I don't...
Joséphine Leblanc: Don't lie to me because I am a lawyer. I recognize a good liar and you are pretty good at it.

We smiled.
Joséphine Leblanc: Let go, we have some real work to do.

All day, I kept thinking about Mr Fitchley and his new brother Mr Bradley.

It was nine o'clock when i left the office that day. I closed the office and took the lift. In the hall, she waved her hand to Marcello, the guardian. He id from Brazil, and he loves music. He brings all the time fruits at lunch so for everyone could have a taste of South America.
