Chapter 1

Early morning, in a cozy home, 2 people.. Youd think nobody would be up at 7 in the morning, but here we are.  The most annoying sound you could hear in the morning, an alarm clock going off it's rocker, especially if your not a morning, such was the usual morning of eda clawthorne. 

As eda groaned, and forced her eyes open, she waved her hand around her nightstand trying to hit the snooze button yet failing, she finally got the noise to stop. Eda made a small noise, and tried going back to sleep, she heard another alarm, she groaned louder, and knocked her alarm clock off the nightstand, then pulled the plugh, only for the noise to stay constant. "Ughhh!!! Whyyyy!!!!" Why yelled. "Because it's time to get up, mom" a voice said, eda looked up, then instantly smiled. The small boy in front of her with his phone in hand the alarm still going off.   "Hey.. Morning kiddo" eda said, in a soft but still very tired voice. "Morning mom, now come on, get up" he said again, turning off the horried noise. Eda chuckled, and sat up, moving her legs off the bed, preparing to get out of bed.

"Alright.. Alright.. I'm up, now go get ready for school" eda said looking at her son with a smile. "Alright" he answered, leaving her room back to his own. Eda sighed, and got up, then started getting ready for the day. They had just moved to this city not to long ago, eda had a new job, and hunter was going to a new school. Eda was dressed, and ready to go she was just packing hunters lunch.  As hunter came out, fully dressed, and with his headphones as he usually wore them everyday, eda smile. "You nervous for your first day?" She asked, as he sat at the counter watching her. "Not really, are you?" He asked, with the same smirk eda was known for. "Heh, I'm way to old to go back to school" eda said in a light chuckle.  "You know what I mean, mom" he said, in a sort of ammused yet smug tone. Eda rolled her eyes, with a smile. "Okay fine, just a little, but that's only because this is a big job" eda said as she handed hunter his lunch box that, was decorated with science symbols.
"Yeah yeah, you big chicken" hunter said in a teasing tone. "Hey! I'm no chicken!" Eda playfully argued. Eda chuckled, and russled hunters hair.  "Ah! Mom noo!! Cut it out!" He yelled, making eda cackel, laughing at her 12 year old son.   

As eda and hunter stepped out the door, eda looked at her car then hunter. "You sure you wanna ride the bus?..." Eda. asked, slightly worried. "Yeah, besides I'd rather not listen to your awful music" he tease. "That music is gold! I have no idea what crap your talking about" eda scoffed. "Yeah yeah, just go to work already" hunter said in a smug tone.  "Alright, love you kid" eda said, as she opened the door. "I love you to mom, no get outta here" he said playfully, as eda got in her car. Eda and hu her may not have the regular mom and son relationship, which is obvious by the way they talk to eachother. Its solely because of the age difference and eda's parenting skills.

Meanwhile, at a popular company amounst the city, Raine, Darius and Lilith were talking. "I'm not really sure actually.. Id have to check on that" Lilith said. "Ooo Lilith finally doesn't know something" Darius teased. "Oh shut up, I know more that you" she said back, folding her arms. "Aw, is the perfect prissy lily getting a temper?" Darius asked. Lilith scoffed, and looked away from Darius in annoyance. Raine chuckled. "That just what eda would say" they said. Darius and Lilith turned to them, and immediately the vibe changed. "Yeah.. It is, isn't?" Lilith asked.  Darius sighed. "Thats girl.. Is just a mess" Darius said, putting his hands in his pockets. "I know what you mean..but.. Shes still wonderful" Raine said with a content sigh. "You simp.. " Darius said, making Raine blush. "Oh come on, theyve had a thing for her for years.. Literally since high school" Lilith said. "Just saying..hey by the way, did you guys get any letters from her?" Darius asked. Lilith and Raine shook their heads. The 3 stayed silent, eda had ran away 13 years ago, and the o ly contact they had from her was a few letters a year, it wasn't anything scheduled, so they all showed up random. They all missed her terribly, she always let them know she was okay, but eda wasn't known for being the most honest about her feelings.
Just then, a blonde girl came up and clung to Raine. "Hii rae-rae!!" She beamed, you caoild easily see the pain and suffering in their eyes, as Darius stopped himself neon laughing, and Lilith looked uncomfortable. "Dari! Hi Lulu!!"  She beamed. Darius's face was now straight, and full of suffering. Lilith sighed, and looked down. "Hello.. Stephenie.. " Lilith muttered. "Lulu! Your always so shy!" Stephanie said.  Liliths eye twiched, "um.. Could.. You let me go please?" Raine asked Stephenie let go, and giggled, twirling her hair around her finger.  "Well.. I heard were getting another person in our department!" Stephenie said. "Great.. " Darius mumbled.  

Eda had finally gotten to work, she was relived because she was one time. She walked in, and looked at the paper, that let her know where her workspace was.  As she walked by, and looked over, she saw the faces she never thought she'd see again. Raine, Darius, and Lilith. Her immediate thoughts were.
Ah.. Shit..
Eda was looking awkward, while Darius, Lilith, and raine were looking like a deer in headlights.  They hadn't seen her in 13 years, and it was no doubt it was her. Raine smiled, and blushed a bit. "Um.. Hi?" Eda mumbled, then walked to her workspace. The 3 immediately followed her, eda was immediately met with a hug from her sister. "Edalyn!! Where have you been!?" She asked, the one question eda didn't, and wasn't going to answer.. Not truthfully at least. "Um.. Around.. " eda mumbled. "Eda! God damn girl! It's been 13 years!" Darius said, making eda looked down, and hold the back of her neck. "Yeah.. Um.. " eda muttered, not being able to find a valid excuse for her disappearance, other than the truth, which still wasn't logical, and out of the question. "Eda.. I missed you" Raine said, wrapping her in a tight hug, which not only caught her off guard, and made her face turn a light shade of pink. The feelings the two shared were still there, even after all these years.  "Haha.. Rainestorm.. Hey.. Um.. " eda mumbled, as Raine didn't let go, so she returned the hug. "I missed you guys to.. " she finally said. "You still haven't answered my question! Where in the bloody hell have you been!?" Lilith asked. "Lily.. Chill.. " eda said. "No! I will not chill! You went missing for 13 hears, and the only constant was a few random letters a year!" Lilith said, almost yelling. "Well.. Ive just.. Been really busy.. For..13 years" eda said. "Girl, how busy could you be to not come home!?" Darius asked. "Guys come on,we can talk about this later, besides were still at work" Raine said. "Fine.. But I want an explanation later!" Lilith said, walking off. "Yeah girl, you have explaining to do" Darius said, also walking off. Eda sighed in relief.  "Thank you raine" eda said, in a sigh. "Dont mention it.. Calamity" they said, and left as well. Eda blushed, and chuckled.

After her shift was over, eda quickly snuck out, because she was not ready to explain why she left, mentally or physically.  Unfortunately, Darius saw her. So they did the only thing they could do in the moment. The 3 followed her home..

As raine, Lilith, and Darius saw where eda lived, Lilith saved the address. And looked through the window.

Eda put her purse down, and did a few things, then a bus came by. Darius, raine and Lilith his on the side of the house, and saw hunter climb off. They were all stunned, did she have a child? If so.. Who's was it?  Hu her went Inside, and they all looked in back through the window to see eda hugging him. Then pointed to the kitchen, hu her went there, and eda opened the window, and looked straight at them. "Yall are weird as fuck.. You know that?"  Eda asked. The 3 were caught, and again looking stupid. "Um.. Hey.. Calamity" raine said nervously. "Why the hell did you guys follow me home!? Thats stalking you know!" Eda said. "Mom!  Who are you talking to!?" Hunter asked from the kitchen. "Nobody! Keep eating and il be right there!" Eda yelled back. "Um.. Is.. There room for a civil conversation?" Lilith asked. Eda sighed. "Fine, but not now please, I'm kinda really busy.. Soo.. Can you guys.. Like.. Go?" Eda asked. The 3 stood up, and left, as eda closed the window.

Eda walked I to the kitchen as hunter was finishing eating. "So.. How was school?" Eda asked. "Fine, you know how it always is" hunter said. Eda chuckled and nodded. "I don't know how your so smart..but it gives you a better chance at everything" eda said with a smile. "Thanks! I think I'd wanna be a scientist when I grow up" hunter said. "Heh.. You little nerd" eda said in a chuckle.

As eda went to bed that night, as she could think about was how Lilith Raine and Darius had seen her with hunter, she wasn't ready for them to find out the truth, because even now 12 years later, it was something she was still coping with.  Eda started tearing up as she thought of the painful truth, them smiled as she thought of the wonderful child she got out of such a traumatic experience. Eda drifted off to sleep as she thought of hunter.

How would she tell them the truth?
