Things seemed eerily quiet as I looked all around me in the dark alley. My heart was pounding from all of the running and adrenaline. I didn't see anything, so I decided it would be safe to rest for just a moment to catch my  breath.

Suddenly, someone jumped out from behind the dumpster and pulled out a syringe. They slowly walked towards me with their hands up in surrender.

"Hey, it's ok, we're not going to hurt you. Just, come with me and we can get you back home." I gasped and backed away slowly.

"No, you'll just take me back to the lab. I want to go home to my family." The nurse stopped and put his empty hand up.

"Didn't anyone tell you, your parents died. You don't have a family anymore, you might as well come back with me." My eyes widened and I shook my head violently.

"No, I don't believe you," I looked around and then challenged the nurse with a glare as I screamed, "Help, someone help me, please." He growled and jumped forward to grab me. I fought his arm as hard as I could, but he was too strong. He put the needle in my neck and tranquilized me.

Just as my vision began to blur, I saw someone step into the alley and block the exit. It was difficult to understand what the figure said as their voice was muffled. But, I was able to make out "Let her go." I blacked out  on the cement ground shortly after.

I gasped as I sat straight up in my bed. I looked around frantically and was greeted with a friendly, yet unfamiliar smile. The woman at the side of my bed had short hair and very pale skin. She pushed a couple buttons on a machine beside my bed before responding to my sudden terror.

"It's ok, you can relax. We're the good guys, so we won't hurt you." Her voice was very calming and it disarmed me. I nodded slowly and sat up so I could rest against the headboard of the bed.

"Where am I?" I tried hard to remember what had happened, but I couldn't remember a thing and it scared me.

"You are in the Teen Titans tower," She said calmly as she checked a monitor. "And you're safe from whoever was chasing you in the alley." Someone burst into the room and called out. "Raven." It scared me, so I gasped and froze their hand to the door.

"What the heck did you do that for?" The boy with green skin said in surprise as he tried to pry his hand free from the door handle. The girl beside me chuckled.

"That's what you get for bursting into a medical room with a patient. You scared her and she obviously has powers. So, she used them in defense," She turned to me and gave me a small smile. "You can unfreeze him, he won't hurt you either." I nodded.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." I melted the water and his hand was freed.

"It's ok, I shouldn't have scared you. I just needed to tell Raven that we found something important. But, it can wait until she's done taking care of you." He slowly closed the door after an awkward laugh.

"Don't mind him, he can be a little crazy sometimes. His name is Beast Boy and he can turn into any animal. My name is Raven and I'm the daughter of a demon. I can cast spells and open portals." She offered me her hand to shake.

"My name is Alora... I can control water." I said shyly as I shook her hand.

"That's pretty cool, and between you and me Beast Boy definitely deserved that." I giggled and she smiled.

"I just hope he isn't too mad, it was a total accident." She shook her head.

"Don't worry, he's pretty easygoing." She offered me a glass of water and I drank it.
