When we first came here,
We were cold and we were clear.
A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes,
And every color illuminates.
We are shining!
But then it stopped,
and I was in the darkness,
In the shadow of your heart;
No light, no light,
In your bright blue eyes.
You left me in the dark,
In the shadow of your heart;
You inspired a fire of devotion that lasts for twenty years-
You can't choose what stays and what fades away
I took the stars from our eyes,
and then I made a map,
And knew that somehow I could find my way back.
And I'd do anything to make you stay.
Then I heard your heart beating,
you were in the darkness too;
Sometimes you're half in and then you're half out,
But you never close the door.
No light, no light
In the shadow of your heart,
In your bright blue eyes-
So I stayed in the darkness with you,
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight,
Screaming in the dark, I howl when we're apart.
I tried to find the sound,
I can see no way, I can see no way,
And all of the ghouls come out to play.
I want to find you-
Say my name!
With metal on our tongues,
And silver in our lungs.
I tried to find the sound,
But then it stopped,
and I was in the darkness,
So darkness I became.
