In a few minutes, it was going to be Jungkook's birthday. The whole world would be celebrating, wishing him happy birthday, again doing some or the other amazing things for him or in the name of him. Army's never failed to amaze him when it came to giving him or to them all. They were all truly amazing.

Normally the thought of it all,  the thought of the army would put a smile on his face, make him happy, make him calm and give him the energy to face it all alone.

But today with his birthday to start in a few minutes, nothing and absolutely nothing was making or even going to make him happy....

Reason?
Jimin was stuck in LA.

A tear rolled down his eyes as he remembered the talk he had with Jimin earlier in the day.

How Jimin told him all about how he was stuck, and he didn't know if he would be able to return even within a week and how sorry he was that he wasn't going to be able to make it on his birthday.

He remembered how Jimin kept saying sorry and how much he wished to be just there with him, hold him and spend time with him. He sounded as if he was about to have a breakdown.

And no matter what, jungkook never wanted to have tears in Jimin's eyes. He would take all the pain and suffer on his own then have Jimin suffering too. He couldn't go knowing Jimin was suffering too.

So putting a big stone on his heart, he comforted Jimin, told him it was okay that he understands him, that he just needed to finish all his schedule and then they would have all the time in the world together, that he shouldn't be upset and focus on completing his work so that he can return to him soon.

He did make Jimin promise him though that whenever he lands in Seoul he is to come straight to him, in his arms, to their home.

After the call ended Jungkook just wanted to cry himself but before he got the chance to do so, the 2seok, Jin and Hobi, sergeants were standing at his door.

The two were there to wish him an early happy birthday in person as they would be posted to some places tomorrow that is the day of his birthday and wouldn't be able to wish him properly. So they came that time itself.

Jungkook was happy seeing them of course he was but the sadness from not being able to have Jimin close to him wasn't just going to leave him, or leave in at all in that case.

He cried hugging them, maybe happy tears maybe sad tears, maybe both only he knows.

They talked, ate, drank a bit together, and had a  nice time together until they both had to go leaving Jungkook alone to hollow in his thoughts...

Suddenly his phone was getting spammed with notifications bringing him out of his thoughts, and making him realise that his birthday had already started.

He picked his phone up to see all the wishes from his family, friends, members, relatives... all but him.

He smiled bittersweetly, 'he must be busy'.

"Well... happy birthday to me..." he said to himself with a pained smile, taking a sip from his glass...

Yeah, he was drinking, drinking alone to ease the pain in his heart to not have the one he loved the most, cherish the most with him on his day.

Little did he know, he was in for some surprises.

Jungkook didn't know how long it had been with him just sitting in the same place drinking and thinking about nothing and everything. With sad songs playing in the background.

When suddenly he heard the main door to the apartment opening. He became alert and turned around to look who was intruding at this hour... as nobody had the keys other than him and...

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOOKAH!!"
