Everyday life for me simple. Work,

diner, home, then sleep. My life was

pretty okay. But okay was getting

pretty tiring.

I wake up, shower, gets dressed, then

I'm on my way to work.

Work was indeed tiring. I worked for

a steel factory making seventy five

cents a hour, twelve hours a day. The

work was hard, really hard but I

needed the money like any other

hard working fella.

I wasn't one of the guys who worked

at businesses, and walked around

with a business suit on their backs

and a briefcase in their hand. Who

can go home to their beautiful wife

and children with a hot dinner and a

nice drink waiting for them at their

dinner table.

No I was one of the guys that worked

to they were bone tired, hands we're

filthy, and was as sweaty as a pig in

summer. I was the one that had to

have dinner at the local diner, then go

home to a cold beer and a television

set. Life for me was pretty lonely.

The only thing I looked forward to

was the long bus ride I take home

every night. Not only was it calming,

but it was the only time I could lay my

eyes on her.

May. She's such a beautiful colored

woman. I admire her. Her big

beautiful brown eyes, her dark hair,

full lips that I wanted to kiss for hours

until dawn.

Lord she was as curvy as a cola and

her skin looked as sweet and smooth

as a hershey's chocolate bar, and I

really want to take a bite. Just to taste

her lips was my most secret and

deepest desire.

Today was the usual bus ride, only

the bus was packed. They were

making the colored people give up

their seats. I followed behind the bus

driver to the back.

He stops at may. "Ma'am I'm going to

need you to give up your seat to this

nice fella." May looks up with tired

eyes and nod. She begins to stand. "No

that's alright I'm fine with standing. I

don't have that far of a way to go

anyhow. Ma'am please take your seat

back down." I say nodding grabbing

hold to the pole.

"Just go ahead and sit down ma'am.

Ain't no way a man should take a

woman seat forcing her to stand." She

looked at me shocked as she sat back

down in her seat.

I look back over to the bus driver,

who looked as if he was disgusted by

my presence. He turns away and go

back to his seat and continued to

drive the bus.

I try my hardest to not gaze her in the

face. But I can't help it, we make eye

contact. She smiles shyly and speak.

Voice as beautiful as a million angels

singing. "That was a pretty fine thing

you did mister. Thank you."
