"Hi Mrs. Woods. Is Jeff home?" You asked Jeffery's mom, she looked drunk at the time, but your 8 year old self didn't care enough to notice.

"Yeah, he's upstairs. You can go ahead and see him, not sure if he'll talk much though." She said, a beer in her hand.
You nodded, and walked inside of the Wood's house and up the stairs to Jeff's room.

You turned the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge.
"Jeffy, it's me." You said, your voice hushed and controlled.
Jeff always used to lock his door when he was scared, so you knew something was wrong.
You waited in silence for a few moments till you could hear the door unlock.

You cautiously opened the door, peering in. Jeff sat on the floor in the corner of his room, with his face buried in his arms.
You closed the door behind you, making sure to lock it. "Jeff, what's wrong?" You asked, sitting next to him on the floor.

He slowly lifted his face towards you, his normal bright blue eyes seemed puffy and dim, and on his once untouched cheek, was a burn, from what looked to be a cigar.

"Jeff what happened?" You questioned.
"It's nothing Y/n, just an accident." He lied, wiping his eyes.
His father taught him to never cry, so he wouldn't, or at least not in front of people, and especially not in front of you.

It was no accident, you knew that now, thinking back. Jeff's father was abusive in so many ways, and you hated yourself for not figuring it out sooner. Him and his father's relationship definitely had something to do with the way Jeff turned out.
Jeff told you about his father abusing him when he was fourteen, right before the incident with the bullies.
That was the only time Jeff had ever truly confided in you.

"I know what will make you feel better," you stood up and went to Jeff's closet, digging around, you find a stuffed bear. It was yours, but Jeff loved it so much, that you gave it to him.
He didn't get much toys from his parents, so he really cherished it. "Matty!" Matty was the name of the stuffed bear. You giggled, waving around Matty's little arms.
Little Jeffery Woods smiled weakly, and took the bear, holding it close to him.

"And then I was like, 'if you think that's a lot of weight to bench, let me show you this—"
"Luke, I-I'll be right back." You interrupted.
He nodded, a little confused.

You ran after the mysterious hooded figure you had seen earlier in the distance. You hadn't seen him in so long. What kind of asshole would break up with you and then show up at your college? Oh wait— Jeff, that's what kind of asshole would.

You caught up to the mysterious hoodie wearing figure, only to be lead to a truck, an old red truck to be exact. Except, it wasn't just any old red truck, it was Jeff's old red truck.

You recognized it immediately.
The truck was running, the drivers window was rolled down, and inside you could hear the radio playing.
It was playing Say Yes to Heaven, by Lana Del Rey. Which was sort of strange, being that Jeff hated when you played Lana Del Rey. That song in particular you loved though, and he knew it.

If Jeff's truck was here, then where was he? You turn around, away from Jeff's truck, bumping into something— or rather, someone right in front of you.
Him
Ah, there he is.
That motherfucker.

Your eyes meet his and before you even manage to look at the rest of his face, you already know it's him. His lower half of his face was masked, but that didn't stop you from seeing his cold draining blue eyes.

You step back, taking him in.
He looked the same, but something was different, something was... sadder about him. You snap back to reality, and squint your eyes at him. Did you not even realize who was in front of you right now?!

"Asshole."
"Wow, that's not what I was expecting at all."
"What did you expect exactly? A kiss?"
"Well—"
"You broke up with me. Why are you even here?" You say, venom filling your words.
Jeff stood taken aback. He didn't realize you were this mad.
"I wanted to see you." He simply said.

Jeff never explained anything you'd ask the first time you'd ask it. You'd have to pry it out of him. He always made you work for your answers.

"Fine, whatever, just— leave me alone!" You brush passed him, furious. You weren't going to deal with Jeffery Woods right now, you didn't want to.
You're pulled back by a firm hand grabbing you by the wrist

"I'm fine." He spoke. His voice was raspier than you remembered it being. "Just to let you know."

You stare up at him for moment before scoffing.
"Why would I care?"
"Because you always care."
You glare at him. It's not like he was wrong, but you weren't going to tell him that.

"Say, did Rebecca tell you to wear that?" Jeff asks, his eyes flickering down to your dress.

"No, I picked it out myself. How did you know I was roommates with Rebecca, have you been stalking me?!"
"Why would you wear that?"
Jeff questioned, completely ignoring your question.
"Because I like it, Jeff. Now let go of me—"
His hold on your wrist tightens, and you look up at him. You meet his eyes immediately, and it makes you want to look away, but you stand your ground.

"Don't wear that anymore."
"You don't get to tell me what to do, Jeff."
Jeff suddenly took off his hoodie, and pulled it over your body. You wanted to protest, but it was in fact very cold out and you were in need of a jacket.

"Y/n?! Y/n, are you out here?" You hear a girl's voice call from the parking lot. Your head snaps towards the noise, and when you turn back around to face Jeff, he's gone.
"Y/n! There you are, we've been looking all over for you. Why are out here alone?" Rebecca asks, Sammy stood right next to her.

"I have a headache, and the music was bothering me." You explained.
"Oh, alright, come on, this party is getting lame anyways. Lets just head back to the dorm." Rebecca takes your hand, and the three of you walk back.
