Here lies Jeffery Woods, a well known serial killer, an enemy to many— or, most, a boy who went down the wrong path at a young age, and.. a really shitty boyfriend.
Well, he wasn't dead, but that's probably what his grave would say.Jeff lied inside a stray Walmart shopping cart, in the middle of the night, in a dead and empty parking lot with a flask loosely in his hand as he hummed some dumb love song his girlfriend— or, ex girlfriend, had shown him a while back.
Who knew he would've missed you so much? You went off to college, and Jeff wanted you to stay in Texas with him. Jeff had no future ahead of him, but you did, and he knew it'd be selfish to take that away from you. So, he let you go."We can do long distance!" You said. Jeff knew that would never work, not for him. He had to see you, to be with you. "I'll never stop loving you." you had said to him the night you broke up.
Jeff just scoffed, keeping his eyes down.
"Yes you will, you'll find someone better for you." It wounded Jeff to say those words. The thought of you with another dick like Dean Malcaster made him want to throw up, but he knew it was for the best."I'll never forgive you for this Jeff. Don't you fucking leave me!" You screamed as he turned out the door.
He couldn't listen to your voice anymore as it started to break. He left that night, without turning back.If it was the right thing to do, why did he feel so horrible right now? Drunk, sitting in a Walmart parking lot inside of a dirty shopping cart that had been forgotten.
In a way he could relate to this old shopping cart. You'd forget him too, wouldn't you? You would find somebody else, someone better, someone more stable and reliable, somebody you could trust.A few years had gone by since you fell for Jeffery Woods, and you were off to college.
You were nervous, and devastated when Jeff dumped you, but you were also hopeful, you had to be hopeful, for it was the only thing keeping you going.Dragging your bags through the halls of the girls dorms, you scanned the doors for your dorm, 301 was your room.
You wondered who you'd be rooming with for the next few years, hoping that they'd be normal for once, unlike everybody else in your life.Jeff wasn't here to make your life a living hell anymore, he wasn't here to kill anyone who looks at you funny, you had to remember that. When you and Jeff were together, you'd constantly get into fights about him killing people, how could you not? He'd kill innocent people, nice, and good people, who had their whole lives ahead of them, and he wouldn't even look twice, he never looked twice.
Your relationship wasn't healthy, that's for sure, but the two of you still loved each other, and that's all you needed.
All this aside, you had to start moving on, you couldn't be hung up on Jeff your whole life, right? You walk into room 301, and a girl with brown hair tied in a ponytail meets your eye. She's stunning, like all the girl friends you've ever had, she was everything you have ever wanted to look like. Stunning chocolate brown eyes, that gave you a comfortable feeling when you looked into them, and a lovely smile.
"Hey, you must be.. Y/n, right? I'm Sammy." She smiled. "Our other roommate, Rebecca isn't here yet, but she'll be here soon, so feel free to claim whichever bed you want." She says.
Rebecca from high school? The two of you were good friends back in high school, so you hoped it was the same Rebecca.
"Oh, alright." You reply. You decided to take the bed closest to the window, you always liked to look out a window while you fell asleep.
Throwing your bags lazily on the bed, you fall onto your bed with a sigh.
College; you made it in one piece.
Frankly, you thought you wouldn't be alive at this point, you're surprised that Jeff never came back in a fit of rage to kill you, and, you were kind of hoping he had."So Y/n," Your roommate Sammy sits on your bed with you. "Some boys I know are throwing a bonfire party, I think it'd be good for you to get to know some of the people here, are you up for it?" Your roommate looks at you with hopeful eyes, and how could you say no to that?
"Sure, that sounds.. fun." You say, knowing full well that you did not want to go to a party right now.
Sammy smiles in excitement, and quite frankly, you found it adorable how her eyes lit up when you agreed.
"Okay! I'm gonna go get a coffee, I'll see you later!" And with that, Sammy was gone.
You sigh in relief.
Sammy seemed nice, but she was a little... much? You weren't a very outgoing and loud person, so her personality was a bit alarming. You dig through your bags for your journal, you had been writing in journals ever since you got back from the mental hospital.
Your therapist told you it would help to write your feelings down, and you supposed she was right, since you were still doing it.
You managed to write down a few things, just about how you felt about moving into college. You take a gaze out the window, only for a shadow to suddenly run past in the corner of your eye. Your body jolts back at the sight, and you feel your chest tighten. Was that a person..? You shrug it off.
Why would there be a person walking around the outside of the girls dormitory anyways? You pull yourself up off of your bed, and dig through your unpacked bags for something to wear to the party.
Your eyes come across a hoodie, it was one of Jeff's old ones. You mentally cursed yourself for deciding to bring this.
You sigh and throw the old hoodie under your bed. You needed to move on from that smiling asshole, and wearing his hoodies weren't going to help. You find a pretty red dress, and smile. You never wore red, it was such a brave color, and you weren't exactly a brave person. Your innocent and soft features clashed with the boldness of the short red dress. Jeff would've never let you wear something like this in public, which only made you want to wear it more.
A little while later, you hear your dorm door swing open, it's Sammy and.. Rebecca, the same Rebecca from high school.
"Y/n! Why didn't you tell me that you were going to this college? Holy shit, I'm so excited that we're roommates!" Rebecca says as she hugs you tightly."I missed you" you admit, laughing nervously. Rebecca had become someone you could trust through high school, like a big sister that you never had. Rebecca smiles and ruffles your hair.
"I missed you too, N/n.""Alright girls, ready for the party?" Sammy interrupts, not out of rudeness though, only because she was excited to get to the party. The party was on campus grounds, so it wouldn't be far.
You nod and grab your purse before the three of you leave. The three of you arrive to the party. Loud music filled your ears. It was a bonfire party so it was outside on campus.
You probably should've brought a jacket.
There was a huge bonfire, drunk people gathered around it.
There were a few people making out by the food area, and there were some people chilling on the roofs of their cars. Why you ask? No clue."C'mon Y/n!" Sammy says, taking your hand and leading you over to the bonfire where most of the people were all at.
Sammy started talking with Rebecca and you."Hey, Ladies." A boy with brown hair and green eyes approached the three of you, but his eyes weren't on Rebecca and Sammy, they were on you. "I'm Luke." He introduced.
You talked to Luke for awhile, and actually learned a lot about him. He got a football scholarship, and that's why he was here. Luke was the exact type of guy you assumed he was just by looking at him, a jock.
"So yeah, I can basically deadlift 300 pounds." Jared said in the most nonchalant voice possible. "Want a beer?" Luke offered. You shook your head. "No thanks. I don't drink."
One thing you had learned from high school, don't drink. The biggest thing that you hated about parties was the alcohol. All it did was turn people into complete dummies, and not to mention, most of it tasted horrible anyways. You had gotten drunk countless times in high school, and after having horrible alcohol poisoning over and over, you vowed to never touch the stuff in college.Luke laughs.
"You're such a buzzkill Y/n"
"Yeah yeah, we'll see who's laughing when you're drunk out of your mind and puking behind that tree over there." You said, crossing your arms.Luke started talking about gym stuff and sports again, but you were suddenly distracted when you saw something— or rather, someone walk over to where all the cars were parked. When you saw the hoodie, you knew exactly who it was.
Jeffery Woods.
