Today automatically feels like a good day. Maybe it's the fact that Niall and I kissed last night. Or maybe it's because we're officially a thing now. Whatever it is, I can't help but feel happy. The smile on my face is pure evidence of just that.

I make my bed and brush my teeth before walking down stairs. As I'm near the end of the steps, I hear Niall in the kitchen laughing. I'm about to make a run back upstairs to change out of my pajamas when Niall walks into view and begins to laugh.

"Hey, Jen. Come here would ya?" he says, knowing I'm embarrassed to be seen in such attire. I hesitantly walk towards him where he puts an arm around my shoulder and messes with my hair a bit.

"Wow, those are impressive," he says pointing at my pajamas. "What are those? Cats? Where can I get a pair myself?" The smirk on his face makes it hard for me to refrain from smiling. "Quit mocking me," I say, playfully slapping his stomach with the back of my hand.

We move over to the couch together where I begin playing with the hem of my shirt. "What are you doing here anyway? Not that I don't wish you came but if I had known you were coming I would have dressed myself more appropriately."

"I came to ask your parents for permission." I look at him with confusion twisted in my features. I ask, " Permission to do what?" He smiles at me with that charming smile of his.

"For permission to take you out on a date this evening. That is if you want to.." His voice slowly went soft as he spoke. I look at him in admiration. How could this boy be so confident and playful one moment then quiet and bashful when asking me on a date the next?

"Of course I'd want to go on a date with you, Niall." I reassure him with a soft smile to which he returns.

"Oh good! I had anticipated you saying yes so I made a reservation this morning." With this I have him a peck on the lips.

"So I guess they know about us then?" I ask, wondering how my brother may have reacted.

"Yeah. You're dad patted me on the back and I received a high five from Chelsea. Phil told me the whole family expected it," he laughs and so do I. I'm so glad my family has taken such a liking to Niall. My dad wouldn't act this way for just anybody.

We spend a few more minutes later before Niall goes his way after telling me he'd pick me up at six. I feel so eager to not only be going out with Niall but to also be going out somewhere other than the diner or farmers market.

Chelsea walks in and joins me on the couch, congratulating me on dating Niall.

"So tell me all about it? How'd he ask you?"

"Woah there nosy, why should I tell you anything?"

"Cause I wanna know. Tell me. Please."

So I explain to her everything that happened after we left his house last night. I mostly tell the story to reencounter it in my head over again for the millionth time. Now that I think of it, he never actually asked me to be his girlfriend. I guess we both knew it was coming anyways.

Chelsea is telling me she's looking forward to seeing Niall around before it slowly dawns on me that pretty soon, I won't see him so often. I decide not to dwell on it now and just enjoy the journey.

After finally eating breakfast and forcibly doing the dishes, I'm sitting on my bed anticipating my date later. What will I wear? Did he tell my parents where he was taking me? I'm so caught up in my thoughts I barely hear my phone ding.
