Title: Wings
Genre: Fantasy/Children story (I guess)
Sam's Point of view
I'm a fairy. I have a hometown called fairyland. All of the things here are beautiful and shiny. Everywhere you go all you can see is sparkles! That is why I always love to go outside to see our beautiful hometown.
"Bye, mom!" I shouted before I go outside our house.
I smiled and inhaled large amount of air. So refreshing! I spread my wings and fly. I greet every fairy I see and they will greet me back. I land in a specific street to greet someone. I was about to knock on her door but someone pulled me out.
"What are you doing, Samantha?" My sister said.
"I was about to greet Miss Dona." I looked down and nervously plays with my shiny shoes.
"How many times do I have to tell you that Dona is not a good fairy to be with?" She points her finger to me and lectured me. I'm just standing there and no words to say. "The next time—"
"Hi, Miss Dona! Have a nice day!" I shouted when Miss Dona opened the door. My sister is in shock so I took that chance to fly away. "And, I'm sorry, sister! I love you!"
I laughed when she face-palmed and turn around. While, Miss Dona smiled and wave her hands to me.
Miss Dona is a nice fairy but some fairy doesn't claim her as one. Miss Dona don't have wings due to accident that I don't know. She's lucky that she's still alive. For us, fairies, our wings is our life. When our wings our gone, our life would be a 70-30. Miss Dona is lucky to have that 30%.
"Good Morning, Sam! Have you thought about my suggestion?" I sighed heavily and face the boy who talked.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I won't and never go to that forest?" I said.
He laughed and hold my shoulder. "You won't regret this. I promise!" He even raised his right hand.
"Whatever, Dave. Let's just go to the festival! Come on!" I flew faster making him out balanced. I laughed hard and fly fast because of his death glare.
We land and walk till we enter the arena. We're not allowed to fly here. Before we enter they throw some pixie dust to us. I laughed when I looked at Dave who didn't want to have some but he has no choice. It is required.
"Welcome Fairies! Welcome!" The mid-aged man greets us. He guides us near stage and leave. The music is loud but we all still can hear each other.
"It is required to attend? Why I'm even here?" I heard Dave whispering. I just laughed and dance with the music.
Today is a Mermaid festival. We celebrate it once a year to give our gratitude to them. They once saved our lives.
Dave doesn't have a choice but to dance along and play some games. He always wins and get some price but then he'll give it to me.
"This festival is boring. Let's go. I'll take you somewhere." He pulled me out of the arena and shake off the pixie dust. I did the same and he held my hand for us to fly.
"Where are we going?" I asked. The streets are almost empty because most of them are in the arena.
He didn't answer me so I just watch his wings spread. I'm amazed and happy to see his wings until we land. My eyes grew big when I saw where we are. Forbidden Forest.
"Dave?!" I shouted. He laughed and held my hand tight. "We are not allowed here." I nervously said.
"Don't worry." He said and start to walk.
Well, this forest is not like my parents told me. This forest is so Magical. We walked and walked until we heard some footsteps. I look back and get scared. A Fox, no, A Group of Fox are right behind us! They are not just fox... they have wings!
"Dave! Call for a Help." I said and even him is in panic. We should not fly because they also have wings.
The one fox was about to attack us when someone held its tail and throw the fox away. We're still in state of shock when someone grab our hands and hide us behind her. I stared at her back and notice that she doesn't have wings.
"Miss Dona?" I asked and she looked at me. I saw her smile for the first time.
"Hi, Sam." She said.
While me and Dave are still in shock Miss Dona faced the foxes and whispered something. We stepped back when a beautiful and big wings grew at her back. My lips parted at the view. Miss Dona's wings are so beautiful! Not like the us that has only two or three colors. She got rainbow-colored wings!
She stretches herself and smiled. "Sam, Dave, I want you two to step back." She said and we followed.
She flew and the foxes becomes alert. Some of them used their wings too to attack. One fox run to Miss Dona's place but she's more alert. Miss Dona flew to the sky and release a bunch of sparkles. The foxes become sleepy and later on they are all in ground, sleeping.
"Are you ok?" She came to us and asked. I just nodded and she also asked Dave. "Some fairies already told the both of you that this is not a safe place."
"I'm sorry, miss Dona...It's my fault." Dave apologized.
"It's ok for someone to have mistakes, at least it teaches us lessons." She tapped his shoulder and faced me. "Are you really ok, Samantha?"
I came back to my sense. "I-I'm sorry. I'm just amazed. Your wings..."
She looked at her wings and spin around for me to have a good view. "It's been a while since I last summon this. It feels good." She even flies because of happiness.
"Why do you have to hide it?" Dave asked and I nodded in agreement.
"Because I wanted to know the true colors of these fairies and I'm sad to say that they disappoint me...but for now. Let's go. My dust is not that strong to make them sleep for a long period of time." She said and we become alert. We start to fly and get back to the fairyland.
The arena is already closed so the fairies are in streets now. They all looked at us because of Miss Dona's aura. They gasped when they realized who is this lady. We land and all of them bowed their heads. Me and Dave bowed our head for respect.
Miss Dona gestured us to stand and so we did. She states her feelings in front of us and they are all sorry. They judge a fairy because of its physical appearance but knowing Miss Dona she forgive us and told them a lesson. She even gave us gifts that's why we are all happy.
Our land became livelier and shinier because our mother came back. I'm so happy that everyone is happy.
"Let's go, Sam!" Dave shouted so I flew fast. We land and knock on Miss Dona's house. The door opened and we go inside.
"Good Morning, love birds." Miss Dona greet us.
We looked at each other and place our disgusted face. "Ew! Love birds?! Us?!"
