CHAPTER TEN (The End)

I got out from the hospital after ten days, from that day, Steven told me everything that happened as he promised, he told me that when he went out with Matt, they meet the police in front of the house, and in the police car was a women, that woman, was Mrs Carroll, the police asked Steven if he knows the woman in the car and if she's who kidnapped me and Matt, and Steven said yes she is...
The police found her running with that knife covered of blood in her hand, it was my blood, then they arrested her
After that the ambulance came too, they took care of Matt first, then they went into the house with Steven to help me too, Steven entered the basement first, he found me unconscious on the floor with the blood under my body, he was scared, they took me to the ambulance and offered me the first aid, I lost a huge count of blood, so I was in danger,
When we arrived to the hospital, they took me directly to the operating room, and for Matt they treated his wounds, then gave him some vitamins and medicines to compensate for his nutritional deficiency
Steven called my mother, then they stayed together in front of the operating room waiting for me,
when the operation was over, the doctor came out and told them that the operation had been successful, but if I was late just for ten minutes, I would now be dead. They took me to the room, then I spent three days in the coma after that I woke up
I spent some time in the hospital after I woke up, and I met many policemen several times, and talking to them every time about everything that happened to me was very difficult, but I had to do it over and over again, because what was important is that Mom and Steven have been by my side all that time, and they are still by my side
After I completely recovered, I went back to work at the pizza restaurant and everyone was glad and happy to see me well, even though if they had done their job that night, I wouldn't have had all of that
After some research, I discovered what happened to Mrs. Carroll, she is now in the mental hospital she does not have the right to go out and she is forbidden to visit, she is really a poor woman, she has suffered all her life, and she is still suffering, and she made us suffering too, we were a victim of revenge, while she was a victim of betrayal
As for Matt, I heard that he left the town with his mother, his parents divorced, and he decided to leave the town with his mother, they went to live with his grandfather, in California
As for me and Steven, we are now together
He did not finish his work at the pizzeria, but rather he  opened his own small restaurant in front of the ocean What a really romantic place
In fact, this place was the place where I met Steven for the first time, before I met him at work
I was on my day off, I was walking along the sea alone
It wasn't crowded that day, I was listening to my favorite singer and I was singing the song with him aloud in the street I took the advantage that the place was empty, it sounds crazy I know...
But when I turned I saw Steven staring at me, he was setting on one of the chairs that placed in front of the ocean carrying a book, he was reading, and I distracted him, I think, that's why he noticed me, it's disteny...
I was so embarrassed, I looked at him again, he was still staring at me and smiling, I smiled at him too, that it was his smile that made me fall into his love,

his soft, thick black hair
and the way he was looking at me,
they were all special,
I swear I've fallen in love with him since then,
After that meeting I didn't see him again, we didn't see each other, I used to go there on my day off many times but I never met him again, I never forget him
Then that day came, I saw him entering the Pizzeria door with Matt, I got to know him as soon as I looked at him, he saw me too, but I don't know if he could recognized me or not
At first I thought he was a customer, but soon Marc told us that they were two new workers with us
That night, I had an indescribable joy that I couldn't sleep,and our story, began from that meeting...
His restaurant is also a place of our second kiss, after the hospital kiss, he confessed his love to me there, and I confessed to him as well
I moved to work with him at his restaurant after he settled, we were able to spend a lot of time with each other
A year has passed since that incident, but I still remember it as if it only happened yesterday,
I'm still having nightmares about that night and I'm still working on it, it's really hard
In the past few days, I decided to go back to that place, I told Steven that Mom wanted me to go with her to buy some things, then I left the restaurant early, I got on the bus there, then I went on my feet, I crossed that dark tunnel again, and then I went to that house,
It looks more scary than before, it has become, lamented, surrounded by dry trees, the windows are broken, the door is open, all the plants are pitted, I pushed the door to enter, I found everything, as it was before,
however, some furniture, such as vases, paintings and others have disappeared, I'm sure they would be stolen...
I went downstairs, to the basement, I found the ropes with which I and Matt were handcuffed, I found traces of my blood near the door, the chair she was sitting on when she was talking to me, everything brought me that feeling, the feeling of fear of the past, it hurts to have bitter memories, your life disturbs you every time you remember it
Tears were falling from my eyes, I came back to the top, I wandered a little in that house, and I found Mrs. Carroll's room, the pictures of her with her husband hanging on the wall, their pictures together, and their wedding photos, she looked very happy, I opened the closet, and found her clothes are hanging next to his clothes, she has always loved him, and she has never forgotten him
After that, I got out of that house, I took the bus to the restaurant but I deliberately got off the bus before I reached there
This experience taught me that life carries with it, what it cannot imagine, it may be good or it may be bad
it taught me that behind everything there is great a wisdom that worth to be discovered
I never imagined that I would kidnap and imprison in a basement, nor did I imagine that I would find who love me, as Steven loves me, sometimes I feel like I was just dreaming, and that everything I've been through is just a dream
This incident shows me how scared Steven was to lose me,
I learned that life is experiences, and that it is not without surprises,
I learned that nothing lasts, whether we love it or hate it, nothing stays the same forever
So we should live today as if we will die tomorrow, don't think about the future, because even if you think, you won't be able to know what will happen, the future is always vague, so think about the present day, live today, enjoy it, create moments and memories, it's all that will remain from the past...be grateful that you wake up every morning and feel alive

I got to the restaurant, I found Steven locking the restaurant door, he came to me and kissed me, then we held each other's hands, and we kept walking along the beach...
