I am a slut for tattoos.
While observing the ink etched on this man's skin, I found it impossible to divert my gaze. The symbolism behind each image, conveying something profound or foolish, captivated my interest. From the evident strength in his muscles as they flexed, to the manner in which his large hands grasped the coffee mug, and even the allure of his rosy lips, I couldn't help but clench my pen and entertain inappropriate thoughts of the potential actions he might take towards me.
The man's gaze met mine just as I was about to look away.
Oh no.
I quickly averted my eyes and pretended to be engrossed in something else, like a flower pot.
Although I was too frightened to face him, I could still feel his intense stare. After a moment, I gathered the courage to turn and glance at him, relieved to discover that he was absorbed in his laptop screen.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I shifted my attention to the view outside the cafe window. I watched in silence as ominous grey clouds gathered, signaling an approaching heavy rain. This was not how I had expected to spend Valentine's Day in the city of Rotterdam.
Sitting alone in a cafe, immersed in a book, and stealing glances at attractive strangers.
Finishing my bagel, I inserted a bookmark between the pages and closed the book. Then, I requested the bill, paid, and gathered my belongings before exiting from the cafe.
As I ventured outside, the cold winter breeze greeted me with a sharp slap against my face. The wind tousled my dark hair as I headed towards my white Audi. As soon as I settled into the car, my phone began to ring. I delved into my coat to check the caller's ID before picking up.
"I swear on my dead fish's grave I will kill you."
As I start the car and place my phone on speaker, a small smile appears on my lips. I then set the phone on my lap and reverse out of the parking lot onto the streets.
"You never owned a fish." I stated.
She groans and begins to say. "Where the hell are you?" Delilah questions angrily. "I'm on my way, relax." I tell her as I stop in front of the red light and waited for it to turn green.
"You're such a dick, you know that? You promised that you'll be on time this time but noooo, here you are saying "you're on your way." She mocks and I roll my eyes.
"Always disappointing me just like my dad." She mumbles and my lips are set in a thin line as the light turned green.
"Ten minutes." I declared. "I'm setting a timer, if you're not here before it goes off you're banned from coming in." She let's out before ending the call.
Typical Delilah.
Even after knowing her for 16 years, she has remained unchanged, almost like her sense of decency has faded. That's one quality about her that I truly admire.
Since it's Friday and both of us don't have classes, D and I made the decision to attend a small house party organized by her twin brother, Dylan.
It's not a huge gathering, just a casual party to distract ourselves from the fact that we are all single on Valentine's Day and have nothing better to do. So, we'll resort to smoking and drinking to temporarily forget about our problems.
If my parents were aware of what I'm actually doing instead of studying, they would be furious. That's why I appreciate the fact that I'm studying in a foreign country.
Thirty minutes later I find myself entering the gates of my best friends mansion. Aka her private accommodation far away from campus.
Did I forget the part to mention that D is freaking rich that she and her brother could wipe their ass with cash?
After parking my Audi next to the luxurious cars that mock my financial status in various currencies, I exit the vehicle and close the door. A gust of wind causes me to shiver as it forcefully brushes against my face. Before I could fully comprehend the situation, a girl with brown hair and green eyes rushes towards me and embraces me tightly. The lingering scent of coconut fills my nostrils.
"Twenty minutes late but I can make an exception because I have alcohol in my system." She states before I could speak a squeal escapes my lips as she slapped me hard on my ass.
"Hmm I love this ass, I could bite it." She adds, giggling before kissing me on the cheek.
"Yeah. Totally normal for you to greet your guest with such intimate affection." I utter and she looks at me with her green eyes, "Hey, sooo before we enter I have to warn you." She pauses her pace, turning to face me. I frown when her gaze hardens.
"D..." I trailed of worriedly. "It wasn't my idea it was his," she asserts before pushing the heavy oak double doors.
My jaw drops and my brows furrowed in confusion as I witnessed the scene in front of me.
"D, why have I been invited to a sex cult?"
