If Six Was Raised By Spooky

{Chapter 4: The Puddle}

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

I was suddenly woken up by a loud shout outside my door, from by curiosity I rushed out of my room to see what was going on. The human from earlier came rushing out and down the hallway. I watch him go bye me and I looked over from where he came from, something dark appeared on the floor in front of a door, probably where he came in. I walked over to take a closer look, it appears it was a dark green puddle, the smell was disgusting! it smelt like if it came from a sewer. Not thinking much of it, I just think it was just a mess that probably Spooky made, but why was the human running away from this puddle of...whatever it is. I walked down the hall to get a mop, before I got a few feet away from it, I heard a low gurgling noises, coming from behind me...it sounded like someone... choking on something. I turned my head back to the puddle, a piece of paper was now present in it, I slowly picked up the paper and began to read.

"Spouting, Splashing, Seaking, Innards, Ingest, Invoking, Nailing, Never, Stops the Choking"

After finishing it, I had a cold chill down my spine, suddenly, I heard the noises again, but at that moment, the puddle instantly changed its shape. Now its not a puddle anymore...it was...a...Specimen I never seen before here, it was tall, it doesn't have legs, but somehow it can...float? It doesn't have a face, but it does have white teeth that are visible, its body was more human like then before.

Then before I could react, the monster screeched at me in a threatening way as if it was gonna attack me. In my instincts, I ran off down the path the human took as the thing behind me give chase. Then puddles then appeared in almost every room that I step in, but when I tried to walk over them, it felt like the puddles were grabbing onto my feet, s lowering my speed.

I ran and ran till my legs and lungs hurt, I turned around to see the creature still on my tail. I suddenly tripped and my face slammed against the hard floor, blood oozed out my nose and dripped onto the floor. I looked up to see the eye less monster, staring down at me before reaching his hand out to grab me, I braced myself and waited for what will happen to me. Then before I thought I was a Goner, A axe flew out of nowhere and stabbed the monster in his skull, causing it to fall and land on the ground, then it slowly melted away back into a puddle. I looked over to my left to see the same human standing there, I could tell he rushed over here cause I saw the sweat appeared on his face.

"You okay?" He asked.

"yeah" I replied "thanks"

He helped me up on my feet.

"what was that thing?" I asked, looking back at the puddle.

"That was Specimen 2" he explained "He was chasing me for almost thirty minutes, but when I saw you getting chased, I had to do something, but the axe sadly doesn't kill him, but we need to get away before he wakes back up"

I nodded in agreement.

I followed the human threw a few rooms, hoping it would at least keep us away from the monster. After a while we sat on the floor to take a break, there was silence between us for a bit before the human spoke up.

"Sooo...im guessing you never seen someone like him before?"

"No" I answered "I knew there were Specimens here, but I never seen someone like him before"

"...are you trapped here?" he asked curiosity

"what?" I replied with a raised eyebrow "no, I live here"

"oh" he spoke "right, I should have known, because you uhh...bit me on the neck"

Guilt filled my chest, and looked down and scratched the back of my head.

"S-Sorry, I uhh...I was hungry for blood, I apologize" I quietly responded.

"its fine, it could have been worst right?" he ended his sentence with a chuckle.

I chuckled as well. We have talked for a while, about what are hobbies are, and other stuff. We slowly made a small bond with one another as we talk.

"I have a question" He asked "Did you ever think about getting out of this mansion?"

The question suddenly stick to my mind, I was never asked that question before. There will be times when I was younger that I asked Spooky if I can go outside, but she said no and that outside of the mansion is a dangerous place, and I could get hurt. She even mentioned that the humans are dangerous outside this place too...But...if that was true, the human would leave me for dead to the hands of Specimen 2. This human was different though.

"I often think about it" I answered "I would ask Spooky if I can get out of this place and explore but she always says no and that the outside world is a dangerous place, and the humans can't be trusted"

"Thats not true at all!" he spoke up "I mean, yes it can be dangerous but its not all that dangerous! and we aren't all dangerous!"

"Still" I spoke "even if I try to get out on my own, I don't know how, this whole mansion is like a maze, I never go around and find my way out because im afraid that I might get in trouble"
I sighed. "but I want to see it, I want to see the sky, feel the air in my hair, and see the world outside"

"I can help you!" he shouted "I can help you get out of here, besides, I wanna get out too, and maybe we can help each other out! if...your okay with it I mean"

"I would like that actually" I replied "ive wanted to explore and find new specimens anyway!"

we both got up and stretch, getting ready for our new journey, to get out of the mansion

"Oh, the names Mike by the way" Mike spoke

"Six, my name is Six" I said

And with that we set off to continue the 1000 rooms journey to get out of the mansion, As Unlucky friends.
