"I'm sure he'll grow up to be an amazing mage." - Zenith Greyrat

One Year Old (First Person POV)

Life has been going quite well, and the days have been consistently pleasant since I discovered the possibility of magic in this world. My physical abilities are steadily growing, and now, at the age of one, I can stand and even articulate words.

Peace prevails in this part of our home, and our neighbors are amicable and friendly. Their generosity is heartwarming, often gifting us with food and crops they've harvested.

I've also come to learn that Paul and Zenith are respected as the protector and healer of the village we live in. This undoubtedly contributes to our family's positive reputation.

As summer passes by like a fleeting dream, the arrival of winter is marked by a blanket of snow outside. The cold winds send shivers down my spine, prompting me to don my snug winter clothes, tailor-made for me.

Zeref Greyrat: Ah, so cozy, warm, and they fit me perfectly too.

I rub my hands together for warmth, blowing on them to further chase away the chill. With a determined spirit, I rise to my feet, focusing on a single thought.

Zeref Greyrat: Magic, huh. I want to learn it, and I want to learn it now!

The idea of being able to cast spells and engage in magical battles excites me, much like any child would be thrilled by the prospect. There's a hint of pity towards the people of my previous world who don't have such abilities, but I push that aside, a childlike smile gracing my face.

Making my way toward the stairs leading to the second floor of our house, I passed by Lilia, who was diligently tending to the laundry. She offered me a loving smile, which I warmly returned.

Zeref Greyrat: Keep up the good work, Lilia.

I'm still quite limited in what I can do right now, given that I'm technically still a baby, albeit one who is rapidly learning and growing. With that in mind, I head into one of the rooms, my sights set on a particular target - the wooden chest.

I vividly remember my mother placing numerous books inside that chest. Perhaps there's something within those books that can enlighten me about magic, or even the geography and history of this world. I've always been a bit of a bookworm, eagerly diving into various subjects, so it's only natural that I'm excited about the prospect of delving into this one.
