Chapter 5: Let me help, trust me

So I'm back, again. I know in the last chapter I said I'm gonna make the Egoist Bible for this book but then I realized it's still too early for that and I'm gonna spoil the whole plot I'm trying to build so that's for another time. I will post it when this book gets to a specific chapter, for the meantime, here's an actual chapter to make up for it, please enjoy.

"Team Z vs Team X, kick off!"

The battle began with the ball being passed to Isagi by Bachira. As soon as he entered team X's side of the field, three players immediately blocked his way, making Isagi stop his pace to think of a way to run past the wall of the players.

However, before he realized it, someone approached him from the back and snatched the ball away. "...?! Raichi, what are you doing?! We are teammates!"

In response, Raichi only glared back at him with a nasty smile. "Whoever scores the most point wins in the end right? I don't care about teams! I'm gonna do this my own way."

"Fair enough, Raichi." the ball was then stolen by Kunigami. "If that's the way things are done here, then I'll fight by myself too, fair and square, how about that?"

As the duo keep fighting for the ball, a player from team X took the chance to snatch the ball. Then, the whole field became a chaotic mess as all the players kept fighting for the ball.

Isagi just stood outside of the pile of players, dumbfounded at their action. He was starting to question himself if whatever was playing in front of him is called football or not.

"Of course, something like this would happen." [Male Name] sighed, pushing up his nonexistent pair of glasses (he learned that habit from Yukimiya and thought it was cool) as he stared at the chaotic scene on the field.

Suddenly, from the horde of players fighting against each other, someone broke through everyone and started running toward Team Z's side of the field.

It's that guy from earlier. [Male Name] and Isagi immediately moved, trying to prevent him from going further.

"Move." the boy felt the dangerous aura oozing from Barou as a shiver feeling ran down his spine. "Get out of my way... Or I'll kill you."

The [h/c]-haired male was a bit stunned at the sudden threat but still stayed unfazed, preparing to block Barou's way. However, Barou used a heel lift to send the ball past Isagi and easily ran past the boy.

"Kuon, [Male Name], he's going your way!" Isagi shouted, turning back to chase after Barou. [Male Name] and Kuon's effort trying to stop Barou was futile as the male swiftly got past them without breaking a sweat and scored the first point for team X.

"Listen up you shitty losers, to me, the ball isn't a friend or anything like that. It's just a round servant to make me look good. On the field, I'm the king!" Barou exclaimed confidently as his team started cheering on him.

All hell broke loose as team Z began blaming each other for the loss. Once again, Kuon had to step in and stop them from arguing with each other. "Come on, get it together guys! They only had one point, we can do it."

"That's right everyone, if we stay in our positions instead of running for the ball..." Isagi's words were cut off when Raichi interrupted him.

"Huh? That means you would get to score all the points. Losers like you should just play defense, you should just all pass to me." before Isagi could retort, [Male Name] already stood in front of Isagi to shield him.

"Isagi is right, if you just keep fighting against each other like that, it's not getting us anywhere. So what if we pass it to you? Do you think you can pass that guy and score the point by yourself?" Raichi gritted his teeth as the duo had a staring contest with each other before Isagi had to pull [Male Name] away.
