The rain that day matched Coffee's mood as his long legs stepped over puddles, hands jammed into his worn out dark brown hoodie. Coffee rose his head, rain pelting his stoic face; he blinked at a shop he'd never seen before, and he made his way over to it, almost getting hit by a speeding car on the way.

Walking inside, he was greeted with sweet aromas of pastries and the sharp sting of fresh coffee beans. He drew his soggy hood down and scanned the small café with a blank stare, water dripping from his hair. He felt bad for getting the place all wet, but he was too hungry and tired to give it a second thought. He sat at the closest table to the door and he felt himself slouch naturally. Gazing over at the other customers with a slow blink, he quietly analyzed them. How pitched their voices were, and how one woman in the back had the greenest eyes he'd ever seen.

He wasn't quite sure how much money he had in his pocket, or if this café was even hiring. It was worth a shot, he guessed. Coffee wasn't going to depend on anyone else anymore. He was a college student; an adult. He could take care of himself... one way or another.

Sparkle trotted quickly through the kitchen full of bakers turning buttermilk icing and grinding coffee beans, wiping flour on his already dirtied burgundy apron and panting happily. He slammed open the swinging doors to behind the counter and took the cups from the sweet girl that worked the brewing, placing them on his serving platter and gliding to the table of fellow college students in the corner. He turned to see a new customer, dripping wet, gloomy, and darkening as ever. Poor guy! He looked like he needed a hot coffee.

Coffee's gaze fixed itself on the smooth surface of the table. He supposed he should count his money and see what he can't actually afford. Digging his hand into the soaked denim of his front pocket, he somehow managed to wrestle a few crinkled bills and loose change. He grimaced at the fact that his money was probably just as soaked as he was. Terrible way to treat a server... He flattened out the paper money so hopefully it would dry some before it was time to pay up. Tipping his head back until it thumped softly against the top of the booth, he sighed deeply, losing himself in his thoughts again, as he drew his bottom lip into his mouth to play with the small round piercing below it.

Sparkle whispered a few words to the sweet-girl-who-brewed and waited for the cup, leaning on the table bouncing back and forth with the serving platter under his arm. When she finished he flashed her a smile and walked to the gloomy-boy's table slowly placing the coffee cup on it, not to startle him from his concentration. He bent down a little to look at the boy's eyes under his ruffled wet hair, blinking his round, multicolored eyes and smiling politely.

Blinking his way back to reality, Coffee sat up a little straighter (although not very much) and looked at the coffee before him. Tipping his head up and gazing through his moppy clumped-together bangs, Coffee's deep brown eyes observed the flour-smeared apron before his gaze lifted to drink in the waiter's face. The innocence that radiated from this... small bundle of sunshine was a bit overwhelming; a sharp contrast from Coffee's dark, muddy aura that clouded him wherever he went.

Clearing his throat rather awkwardly after their eyes met, he spoke. "Uh... is..." he attempted to speak, voice sounding raspier and deeper than he had expected it to be. "...Is.. that for me...?" he pushed out the words, hating how he fumbled with them.

The boy fumbled nervously and and tripped over his words, water dripping all over the place and looked down quickly before he spoke. The stranger was rather good-looking when you can see his face, tanned and thin, his wet skin glowing softly. Sparkle formed a big smile, crinkling his eyes and blushing, He crossed his arms with the platter behind his back and nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, just for you, on the house! Having a bad day? What's your name? I'm Sparkle!" His light voice rung like wind chimes and he almost never stopped bouncing.
