Chapter 1

Thom Yorke had just finished a long recording session with his bandmates. His eyes were droopy and his throat was hoarse from belting out lyrics for hours on end. Thom shuffled out of the studio, closing the door behind him. He took a deep breath of the fresh air. He could feel the cool London breeze, but something was off. Everything looked the same, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was somewhere else.

Thom didn't have time to ponder the feeling much longer because something strange happened. He felt a tug and suddenly he was sucked into a portal, enveloped in a blinding light. The next thing he knew, he was lying on his back in a desolate alleyway. He groaned and rubbed his head, feeling dizzy and disoriented. Everything around him looked so familiar, yet different.

He slowly stood up and took a couple of steps forward. He looked at his surroundings, and his heart sank. He was standing in a dystopian version of London. Every building was gray, dirty, and run-down. The people walking around looked miserable and hopeless. The air was thick with smog and the sky was a dark shade of brown. Thom felt like he was in a nightmare, but he knew he wasn't dreaming.

It hit him like a ton of bricks. He had somehow been transported into the world of George Orwell's 1984. A world whose ideals were the exact opposite of his own, where privacy was non-existent, and the government was all-knowing and all-seeing. Thom felt physically ill, made worse by the interdimensional jet lag. He stumbled over to a wall and vomited.

Thom couldn't believe what was happening. He had to find a way out of this world and back to his own. As he looked around, he noticed a group of people wearing black uniforms with a symbol he didn't recognize. They were heading straight for him. Thom knew he had to get out of there, fast.

Chapter 2

Thom speeds down the empty streets in the stolen car, his heart pounding in his chest. He can't believe he's survived this long in the alternate universe, but he knows that his luck can't last forever. He needs a plan, a way out.

As he drives, his mind races. He thinks back to his earlier musings about his younger self in Oxford. It's a dangerous plan, but it's the only one he's got. He remembers the stories of the Brotherhood, the resistance movement that is said to be fighting against the Party. But is it real, or just a myth?

Thom knows he can't trust anyone in this world, but he has to try. He has to find his alternate self, and he has to find the Brotherhood. He knows it's a long shot, but it's the only hope he has.

As he drives through the empty streets, his mind churns with possibilities and doubts. He wonders if he's making a mistake, if he's putting himself in even more danger. But he knows he has to try. He can't just sit back and wait for the Party to find him.

Thom's thoughts turn to his crush on Ed. He wonders if Ed is still alive in this world, or if he's been caught by the Party. He can't bear the thought of losing Ed again, not after everything they've been through. But he knows he has to focus on the task at hand. He can't let his emotions cloud his judgment.

Thom's grip tightens on the steering wheel as he approaches Oxford. He knows that the next few hours will be crucial. He has to find his younger self and the Brotherhood, if they exist. It's a long shot, but he has to try. He can't give up now, not when he's come so far.

With a sense of determination, Thom drives into Oxford, ready to face whatever lies ahead.

Chapter 3

Thom drives through the empty streets, his mind consumed with thoughts of his alternate teenage self. He wonders if he, too, is a mindless drone, indoctrinated from birth by the Party. Or is he free and in hiding?
