Daisy stays as close as possible to Nix, his calmness is rubbing off on her. She knows if anything goes wrong they're screwed.
'Nix,' a man approaches him, he's in his early twenties, he's dressed the same as Dec but looks a tiny bit more welcoming 'it's been awhile'.
'We're just passing through,' Nix says.Dave frowns 'but it's been so long, we've a lot to catch up on'.
'We need to get this boy somewhere safe,' Daisy says.
'What's safer than the Ifreann?' He laughs 'what's your name?'.
'Daisy, this is Arawn'.
'Strange name,' he looks at Arawn, he steps back all of a shot and the man around them raise their guns 'you're a cult boy'.'No,' Nix says 'he's not from the cult'.
'He looks it'.
'Well he's not'.
Daisy feels something hit the back of her head, she falls to the ground and her world turns black. The men tie Daisy's hands, they force her to her knees. Her vision comes back, Arawn and Nix are in front of her, hands tied and men pointing guns at their heads.
'Why bring the cult to me?' Dave stands in front of Arawn 'this freak is going to have those fuckers on my back?'.
'He's just a boy,' Nix says firmly 'he is not part of the cult'.
'I can see it in his eyes'.'He was part of the cult,' Daisy speaks up 'but we freed him, he's not important, he's just a young boy, the cult don't care, we just want to bring him somewhere safe I assure you of this'.
Dave turns around and smiles at her 'do you?'.
'Yes,' she says, not breaking eye contact.'There is a horde in one of the shopping centres right outside the walls,' Dave says 'clear these for me and I will allow you to pass through the Ifreann'.
Daisy looks at Nix, who nods 'okay'.
'You will accompany a group of my fighters'.
Daisy watches as he leaves the room. She knows these aren't good people, she can see the cruelty in their eyes, the blankness. The men cut their hands free and stand them up.
'We leave now,' one of the men say 'we will give you your weapons back outside the walls'.
'And what about Arawn?' Daisy asks 'he can't come'.
'I'm okay,' Arawn says 'I'm used to the Freaks'.
'Of course,' one of the men scoffs. The men drive the vehicles outside the walls. Daisy can see the shopping centre come into sight, it's big and in the middle of nowhere. The perfect place for a horde to have a nest.
Daisy and Nix are given their weapons, Daisy hands a knife to Arawn.'Me and you,' one of the men points to Daisy 'the boy, Nix and Kevin, then Larry and John ye go together'.
They put on their gas masks and enter the building, all going their separate ways.'Stay sharp, they like to hide in the shadows' the man says as they reach the third floor.
'I don't hear them,' Daisy says. The man turns to her when a loud bang rings through the air, a bullet hole appears in his forehead before he falls to the ground. Daisy drops to the ground and crawls into a shop. She can hear the gunfire erupt on the floors below her. She hides behind a counter and hears footsteps.
A man dressed in all black appears, he has a balaclava on making it impossible for Daisy to make out who she is. She sneaks up behind him and knocks him to the ground. She grabs him by the throat and slams her fist into his face.
'Wait, wait,' he tries to stop her, his voice is familiar.
Daisy grabs his face and stares into his eyes, she falls back 'Charlie'.
