Kailani's POV:
I was mortified
" Fuck! That's one way to start a morning" He said
" I'm so sorry sir I didn't know you had gotten here yet, please let me help you"
"It's okay bellissima" (beautiful)
Without a word I grabbed a handful of napkins and began dabbing the coffee out feeling his hard chest and abs I had to stay focused. As I looked up at him, I saw him already looking down at me with a smirk on his perfectly chiseled face. We stayed in the moment just looking at each other in comfortable silence. I snapped out of my trance stepping back remembering the spare tux he keeps in the closet.
"I'll go and get your spare suit sir, is there anything else you need before I start preparing for your meetings today?"
Just then there was a change in the air and it got a little cooler as he responded
"No that's it" he said
I then went to retrieve his extra suit mentally kicking myself for flirting with him like that. It's my first day and here I am acting thirsty.
"Here you are sir, I'll go ahead and make you a new cup of coffee and prepare for your 10 o'clock meeting"
He nodded in acknowledgement, I then walked out to make coffee yet again.
Vincenzo's POV:
I didn't mean to go cold but I couldn't just let her in like that I almost lost it when she walked into the office in those form fitting pants and her delicious scent still hung around the office even after she left. She is so gorgeous without even trying and I'm already hooked. Just then she walked back in with a new cup of coffee setting it down in front of me, once again leaving her scent everywhere she went, I spaced out not even realizing she was talking to me.
"What did you say Lani?" I said with an eyebrow raised
She looked taken aback by the use of the nickname but nonetheless answered my question,
"Sir your 9:00 is here"
I nodded and motioned for her to follow me to the conference room, which she had skillfully set up making me inwardly smile at how fast she was picking everything up. I then pulled her chair out for her right next to mine making her thank me in her sweet voice that I wish to hear for the rest of my life.
"Okay Lani you're going to take the notes for the meeting and put them on my desk afterwards. Any questions?"
"No sir"
At that very moment four men came in, one being my ex's dad Sean Green, who looked as shocked as I felt. He then sat down with a smirk after seeing the scared look on my face. Mr. Moretti must have noticed too because he put his hand on my thigh while glaring at Sean.
"I see you let lying whores work for you now huh Vincenzo?" Sean smirked
Before I could even blink he had pulled a gun and shot Sean in the shoulder with the darkest look in his eyes before calmly talking.
"If you talk to my woman like that again I will put that bullet in your head understand?"
Sean nodded while holding his wound and quickly walked out leaving me open mouthed at Vincenzo, which I decided is what I'm calling him. He then yelled at everyone that the meeting was over all while intently looking at me trying to gauge my response. As soon as everyone left he spoke to me shocking me by how vulnerable he sounded.
"Are you scared of me now Kalani, you gonna leave?"
I don't what shocked me more him calling me by my actual name or the fact that he was more scared of me leaving him. I walked up to him and gave him a hug I knew he needed which he melted into, he shockingly made me feel safe.
" I'm not gonna leave you Vincenzo, and by the way I'm not your woman why did you say that to Sean"
"Because Lani you will be there is something about you that draws my attention in. I always get what I want and I want you and eventually you'll be mine. Now to business you do know that with your contracts you signed an NDA, I'm sure you can pick up what putting down yes?"
I nodded still reeling from what I just heard, I then felt his hand on my chin,
" Words Tesoro" (Sweetheart)
"Yes I understand"
"Good girl, have the rest of the day off, tomorrow I expect you to tell me how you know Sean"
He then left me with a kiss on the forehead standing in the conference room.
What an eventful first day.
