There's no doubt he's not gonna kill me now-

I literally kicked him in his nuts! I know if someone did that to me I'd be hella pissed. That shit really hurts.

I went to a darker area of town, looking around. There was an abandoned clothing store here that still, for some reason, had clothing in it.

"Hmm…" I looked at all of the clothes before picking out a large black trench coat some boots, sunglasses, and a fedora. Maybe it was a little over the top but…I gotta stay undercover.

I walked out with my hands in my pockets, glancing around a bit. No one usually comes to this part of town. When they do, it's usually to practice illegal stuff that you'd get turned in for.

I left the shady area and went back to the regular part of town. The alleyway Ryland and I were in was…empty. Well duh, I'm sure he didn't just stay there.

"I really hope that dude stops chasing me…it's annoying." I sighed and shook my head, glancing around more. You see, this life of running all the time makes me paranoid. Now I always gotta watch my back!

"Hey, you!"

I quickly turned around, backing away slightly.

"Huh? You alright?" The random person asked, raising an eyebrow. "Uh yeah, I'm fine. What do you need?" I sighed softly, crossing my arms.

"Ah, sorry if I'm bothering you or anything- it's just I wanted to ask if you could help get my dog? I can't find him- he went into XXX?" The person said, seemingly apologetic.

The store that they said was literally back in the shady part of town, where I just came from.

I sighed."Alright fine…" I shook my head and started to walk towards the store, the guy following behind me happily and thanking me.

I just completely tuned him out…I did not wanna do this at all. But, I'm not a bad guy. I’ll help someone out if they really need it. Who am I to deny someone my assistance if they really need it? Plus, I don't really have anything else to be doing at the moment. What’ll it hurt?

I got back to the shady part of town with the guy still following behind me. I saw the store he was talking about and walked inside. I looked around the store for a bit, the guy was not behind me anymore.

I'm pretty sure I saw him just kind of…standing outside of the store and waiting. Maybe he was scared or something…there could be a gang of thugs just hanging around in here. So I don't blame him.

What was strange was that I didn't hear any barking. You would think that a dog would be barking, especially since they were in an unfamiliar place without their owner.

Yet…I was hearing absolutely nothing.

Weird.

I shook it off and continued to search the store, looking around each corner and under fallen boxes and items. I found some food and a few other things left behind.

“Eh.” I shrugged, picking up a random wrapped lollipop. I opened it before sticking it in my mouth, continuing to look around.

“Where the hell is this damn dog…” This was truly starting to get annoying.

Just then, I went down a different aisle and saw something. Was that it? It looks like a dog…just sitting there on its back legs and wagging its tail.

“Hey there little guy…” I said with a soft and calm smile as I slowly walked over. But as soon as I went to pick it up…it faded.

It was a damn hologram.

I should have fucking known! This was all so damn suspicious from the start!

I grumbled as I turned around, hearing a noise.

There, standing in front of me, was a group of three demons! I recognized them all too well.

“Damien! You fell right into our little trap, hehe!” one said who I recognized as my aunt. I blinked.

“How did you guys get here?!” I exclaimed, backing away. Sure, these guys were family. But…I knew they didn't like me at all. Whoever turned me in would be recognized by the Devil himself.

“Oh…you know. The same way got here. Except we actually had permission from the Devil to actually come and bring you back! So please come back with us?” my older sister said. I rolled my eyes. It's just an act.

“No. I hate hell. There's no freedom whatsoever and Im tired of my life being set up for me. I want to decide things for myself and not have to worry about breaking a single rule and then being burned alive. You guys don't seem to understand that.” I said, crossing my arms and sending them all a cold glare.

My dad suddenly reached out and grabbed my arm forcefully.

“Listen, son. You don't have a choice. The devil wants you to come back so I suggest you do.” he said, a hint of anger and urgency in his voice. I scoffed and pulled away from him.

“What does the devil want with me anyway? I'm tired of him, he's so damn annoying.”

“I don't know…probably because you’re the first demon to ever try to escape.” my sister said, shrugging her shoulders. “But anyway, we need you to come back,” she added.

“No. I'm not coming back. End of story.” I simply said, backing up again. They all looked at each other.

“Well…looks like we're gonna have to do things the hard way, then.” my father said, shaking his head. That made me slightly confused…what were they gonna do?

My father nodded towards my aunt who pulled out a remote.
