Warning...you might shed a tear while read this 😢
Ryland looked at the ball of fire before his happy expression dropped. All that was left was what seemed to be anxiousness, sadness, and something else I couldn't put my tongue on.
It made me…it made me feel…I don't know, I just didn't like it.
"Okay. I'll…I'll explain everything. Can we just go somewhere else to do this…?" He asked quietly, his eyes staring deeply into mine.
"Um..yeah sure…" I muttered as I slowly got off of him. I rubbed the back of my head and leaned against the table, waiting on him.
Ryland slowly sat up, sighing as he looked at me. After a moment, he got up and started rollerblading slowly, signaling for me to follow him.
I nodded and followed behind him. I had a bad feeling…it was weird. Maybe I should start trusting my gut. But…I needed to know. What was this guy's deal? I just gotta know man.
He led me out of the restaurant and to the back of it. I followed behind him, leaning against the wall once he stopped.
"So?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"So um….where do I start?" He laughed quietly, scratching the back of his head. He let out a deep sigh, clearing his throat, and speaking in a very serious manner. It was almost scary.
"You might not believe me, but I'm a time traveler. I traveled back five years in time which would be now." He said
"Okay…but what does this have to do with me…?"
"Well…um…in the future, we kinda get married. And have kids."
I stared at him. This guy cannot be serious.
"I'm being serious! Please believe me Damien. Look, we fell in love, got married, had kids, and we were living happily ever after! Until…the Devil reared his ugly head up to the surface of earth. He saw you were married and happy and it made him angry. So…he killed you. Right in front of us. I was…I was traumatized. So were the kids…" his voice cracked slightly as he spoke, not making eye contact with me.
"Tiana…our 4 year old daughter…she… just…the way her little face looked…oh my god…" he shook his head and trembled.
I believed him, I did. That sounded terrible. I really…married this guy? And had kids with him?
"O-oh…I'm…I'm so sorry…" I muttered as I looked at him. He sniffled slightly and smiled, shaking his head.
"No no…it's okay. You don't have to be sorry, it's not your fault. I just…I just need to stop it. I need to stop you from dying. Damien…I love you so much…please…please don't die again. I need to stop it."
It felt kinda weird to hear him say he loved me. But…that explained a lot. And I didn't want to die. And even if I did, I don't want my family to watch it happen.
"Okay…I understand now." I sighed quietly and slowly nodded my head.
"Thank God. Also…I don't think I'll be able to go back to my time…I just can't. I know we have kids but…I just-...I just need to make sure you live." I somewhat understood, smiling softly at him.
Now that I know all this, I guess I'll be a bit easier on him since he is my future husband and all.
