"Kenma" you called him from the threshold of his office door lengthening the a to try to get his attention quickly since you knew he was playing a game with his friends and it would be difficult to distract him.
Unlike most of the time, he was not wearing his headphones so the audio was being picked up by the microphone in front of his computer, making it easy for everyone in the game to hear you.
"That's the voice of the homebreaker cat" you could hear Kuroo joking in the call referring to you by the nickname he gave you because he swore you stole his best friend, as if they don't usually spend all the time together.
"You only call her that because you're jealous that he was able to get a girlfriend before you" Yaku mentioned causing everyone to go crazy making them to start screaming but mainly starting an argument between him and Kuroo to which the dyed blonde who lived with you rolled his eyes, ignoring them completely to concentrate on the game.
You walked into the room until you stood next to Kenma's set up which was in the middle of the office, three screens in front of him, the camera he used for his videos had been moved to one side since he was not recording, it was just a game to hang out with the old Nekoma members. The noise of the discussion of the two older ones filled the room but your boyfriend didn't seem to be interested in the slightest, he had his eyes glued to the screen killing all the enemies in front of him, as usual he was the one who stuck his face out for the team.
"I'm a little busy right now baby" the dyed blonde commented without taking his eyes off the screen, your eyes automatically widened, it's not that Kenma didn't use that nickname with you but he's never used it in front of his friends, he's always been the type who is embarrassed to show affection in public, which you respected most of the time even though you would occasionally kiss his cheek in front of others just to annoy him.
To the bad luck of the ex-setter, everyone had been able to hear him, he seemed not to realize what he said until his friends began to shout and make a fuss on the call.
"Tell me I wasn't the only one who heard that!"
"I never thought I would live to hear Kenma use a pet name. I must be dreaming"
"Hey, why don't you ever call me like that?" You easily recognized Kuroo's voice in that comment.
Your boyfriend's cheeks automatically turned intense red upon realizing what he had said and at the various jokes of his friends, who were clearly not going to leave him alone for long.
