Chapter 1: God?

God chose Jade as his successor....

Jade, a human from planet Earth, One day, Jade and his sister planned to go on vacation, but an accident happened.

Jade and his sister waited for their ride at the side of the road. Jade's sister was talking to her friends, while Jade listened and texted for their ride.

Out of nowhere, a ball hit Jade's sister, pushing her five steps away from Jade and causing her to land on the road.

Then, a speeding van rushed towards her with no thought of stopping whatsoever. Fearing the loss of his only family, Jade instinctively rushed to save her.

With great speed, Jade ran towards her, managing to get close, but the van's front was just a few steps away from them. Time seemed to slow down as Jade saw the van slowly but surely hitting them.

It was unfortunate that all this happened because of a ball. The van got nearer, and Jade thought of many ways to save her sister, but the only thing that came to mind was to hug her.

So, Jade hugged her, wrapping his right hand around her head and his left hand on her waist. Then,he turned his back, facing the van.

The van hit them, and they flew for a short distance. Both of them lay on the middle of the road. Jade's sister was safe, but Jade was bleeding nonstop. Jade looked at his unconscious sister, then smiled and said, "I'm glad you're safe."

Gradually, Jade's vision faded, and they could hear the panic and sirens in the distance. He thought he had died...

Or so he thought...

In the next second, Jade woke up in a white place. He were greeted by a human-shaped, bright light. The light welcomed him and informed him that he was chosen as a successor candidate.

"Hello, human," the light spoke.

"I am the God of Time," the light continued. "You can call me Time."

It took a lot for Jade to process everything, about half an hour.

Jade asked, "Where am I?"

Although shocked, Jade was still adamant on what is really happening.

Time simply said, "You are special," without answering the question directly.

Time continued, "Well, you are a successor candidate, if I suppose."

Confused, Jade asked, "Candidate?"

"Yes, a candidate," Time replied. "There are a total of seven creatures I chose as candidates."

Jade asked curiously, "So what now?"

"The seven of you will compete for power, eliminating the others until only one of you remains alive or some of you quit as a successor. The last survivor will be the winner," Time declared.

Taken aback, Jade thought, "Does this God want us to kill each other?" Then he remembered something Time said - he was special.
