The next day arrived only hours later, the early sunlight seeping through the openings in the burgundy curtains, casting bright patterns across the carpet. Jiseon shifted in her bed, cracking her eyes open, only to shut them again as a ray of sunshine pierced directly into her vision. She let out an annoyed groan before flipping around to face the rest of her room.
She reached for her phone, which was in the same spot she had put it the previous night, and tapped the screen. The device lit up, displaying her background - an abstract wallpaper, and the time, which read; 8:27am.
She groaned again, realizing she only got a few hours of sleep. They had all stayed up late last night discussing the plans and she had been unable to sleep well due to the thoughts swirling around in her head.
It wasn't uncommon for her. There were nights where a job took much longer than anticipated. Whether it be because the intel she had been given had changed last moment, or the target was simply acting irregularly. There were more factors that contributed to these events, but those two were the main ones.
Jiseon swung her legs over the side of the bed, stretching as she did so. She left the edge of the bed and shuffled through her bags once more, locating a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a hair brush. She then walked into the bathroom, proceeding with the usual morning routine. Exiting the bathroom, she ran her fingers through her hair, pulling it up into a ponytail using the hairband she kept on her wrist.
The sudden rapping of someone's knuckles on her door prompted her to let out a curt "Come in."
The door inched open, and Heeseung poked his head in through the doorway. He was still dressed in the same clothes she had seen him in the night before when he gave her the blanket. "Are you ready? The others are downstairs already. I think we're discussing the plan a bit more in-depth."
Jiseon only hummed in response and followed the taller man down the stairs and to the kitchen where Jay was cooking something on the stove and the others were gathered around him, plates in hand.
Jake offered her a plate but she shook her head and lifted a hand in refusal. He shrugged before shoveling a forkful of eggs into his mouth. Jiseon mentally chuckled at the sight. It had always been a habit of his since they were children.
"So," Jungwon began as everyone had seated themselves in the dining room and were downing their breakfast, many scarfing it down like they hadn't eaten in ages. He looked slightly concerned, yet not surprised as his companions' actions. "Are you guys ready for tonight?"
