Chapter Three: ( Harper's Pov )
My phone rings up and it was Sophia on the ID call.
"Hey Harper! I hope you didn't change your mind cause it's 8 already, WHERE ARE YOU????" That was loud.
"Hey chillax! I'm on my way"
"You know where to find me then" I sure do.
"Great, see yah!"
When i arrived to the hall, i saw an employee being scolded. Unable to stand injustice, i approached to find out what was happening.
"You're such a failure! I can't believe I have to deal with someone as incompetent as you" A guy scolding the employee.
I approached and heard that guy hurling rude words at the employee, intensifying her determination to intervene.
"Hey, what's your problem? You can't just go around treating people like that!" I had to interfere.
"Who do you think you are, sticking your nose in my business?" The guy defended
"I don't care who you think you are. It's not okay to be rude to others!"
"You don't even understand the situation, alright? stay out of it."
"I may not know the whole story, but I won't just stand by and watch someone be mistreated and who even invited you here???"
The guy glared at both me and the employee, shooting us a final disdainful look before storming away. It was a scary look though.
"Miss, you shouldn't have...." The employee tried to say something but i cut him off.
"Don't worry I'm okay, you can go do your work" i smiled and walked inside where the party was being held.
"Finally you are here, you took ages to reach" Sophia said approaching me with a guy. I guess it's her boyfriend.
"Stop being dramatic and I reached ten minutes ago, I was just outside dealing with a jerk"
"Are you okay, though?"
"Yeah I'm great" i give Sophia a smile to ensure her that i'm okay.
"Okay, so Harper this is Owen Morgan my boyfriend and Owen, this is Harper Stone my one and only best best friend" Sophia introduced.
"Hello Miss Stone, nice to meet you" Owen said shaking my hand.
"Hello, nice to meet you too and you can just call me Harper" i replied back with a smile.
"Sure Harper,same goes to you" Owen said sarcastically and we all laughed.
"So Harper, Owen's family company deals with the digital marketing and branding business I told you about but his brother Alex Morgan is the one who manages it and he is the CEO of the company while Owen here is the senior vice president of the company"
"Oh I see" That's why Sophia was so sure about it, now it make sense.
"There is still time for the party to start, i think it is the best time to go meet him now."
"Don't take his words to heart though, as first he has a serous face and second he is very angry for the moment because one of the employees messed up his dream project while everyone at the office knows that no one is allowed to touch anything in his office without his permission" Owen explained.
"Thanks for the warning" I need this partnership, the company has already faced a lot of losses for the year it's enough.
Be good, Be good I know i can do it. I need to encourage my self and yes I believe I can do it....right?
"Here we are" Sophia spoke out.
The moment I looked to the person who was in front of me I wanted to die the same moment. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING TO ME. HOW CAN THE GUY I SPOKE RUDE TO AND YES WITHOUT KNOWING THE REASON FIFTEEN MINUTES AGO BE THE ONE I NEED HELP FROM!!!!!!!!!!!
"Alex, this is the one I told you about, Harper Stone" Sophia introduced me to him. but I was still in shock to say anything, I couldn't even be able to look at him.
"Well, well look who is here......what can I do for you, Miss Stone???" Alex replied.
"Do you guys know each other?" Sophia looked up at me in surprise, her eyes widening.
"Don't worry Sophia, I can take it from here" i replied before Alex could reply.
"Okay then, I will leave you guys to it" Sophia nods and leave with Owen.
"So, Miss. Stone, heard you're in a bit of a pickle with your perfume and cosmetics company, need my expertise to save the day?" Alex folded his hands to his chest and spoke away.
"Well, Mr. Morgan, it seems I do need your help after all. My company is in a bit of mess, and I could use your digital marketing magic to turn things around. Can we just put our differences aside and work together?" I can't believe I'm doing it.
"Mmmh.......but it will only be fair if you apologize, right?" I knew it this was coming.
"Sorry" This is so embarrassing!!!!
"Oh, come on, Miss Stone! You really think a simple apology will cut it? You'll have to do better than that if you want my help."
WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry for being rude earlier. I promise I'll make it up to you somehow!" Harper said with a fake smile on her face. You win this time Mr Morgan, I just don't have a CHOICE!!!.
"Alright Miss Stone, I appreciate the apology. I will think about it and let you know if I'm willing to move past this, will you excuse me for now?" Alex replied and left me there staring at him.
How can someone be so cruel, I know I need help but I also have dignity to protect I'm not gonna beg him ever.
