Dear reader,

Welcome, once again! If you haven't checked out the first four books of this series, you've missed tons of action, adventures and overall, angst. You already know our favorite LAPD SWAT officers, our heroes: Hondo, Deacon, Luca, Chris, Tan and Street. Besides them, we have another young squad getting involved with LA crime fighting scene: Maverick -Marv-, Matthew -Kaykay-, Kelly, Leyla, Wy - Chen- and Rubio. These teenagers look up to 20 Squad and would like nothing else than to become the next elite SWAT squad. Their adventures began way back in the series titled Unexpected (Book 2, Jr Swat), which you should totally read, by the way! Now, in this series, the kids are slowly learning what it really takes to prepare for the SWAT life.

In the first book, The Basics, the kids started their school year with a bang. Literally! Their school was attacked by a band of criminals intending to blow up one of the buildings with them inside. Since the police was also under attack, the kids had to resort to different strategies to survive. Even the only one not enrolled in that school helped! Meanwhile, things got heated between Chris -aka Captain Alonso- and her new boss. Plus, more drama in the Harrelson's household and -of course!- Stris world.

In the second book, Two Taken, there is a multiplicity of scenarios happening at once. First, the Kays have been diagnosed with Covid and are feeling the intense effects of the virus, except for young Kaykay. However, he quickly learns that taking care of a 6 member family is a huge task! On the other hand, the disappearance of one characters leads Luca to go out of his way at late hours of the night. Also, Rubio and Marv get Hondo in trouble, as the teens almost jeopardize an entire operation. Near the end, Leyla is dragged into an impossible situation with Kelly, while Chen works with Rubio and Marv to get immediate help. All of this while Commander Hicks deals with higher officials, who have yet to reveal an important message for SWAT, specifically for 20 Squad. At the end of the book, we find out Captain Alonso has been involved in an attack, leaving her in the final stage of her life.

Chaos in Ord3r is the third book of the series. It picks up with young Marv living the meaning of racial profiling, something Hondo has lived his entire life. Moreover, the situation in Washington continues to deplore, as Captain Alonso's health doesn't improve. Street leaves LA for Washington, hoping his presence and support helps her to come out of her comma. Meanwhile, the young bunch faces persecution in the hands of an unknown figure in a black car. The Kays continue to deal with Covid 19 and mandatory isolation. Later on, 10 Squad take it upon themselves to uncover their harasser -or harassers- which results in a face off with not one, but multiple figures, all handling weapons. Also, Nichelle is involved in ambiguous business, while LAPD continues to prepare for an all out drug war. At the end of the book, Hondo visits Chris and the sound of machines left us all wondering what happened.

With so many questions, doubts, and most of all, sadness, we jump into book number four of the collection, titled JunIor AdVocates. First, we find out what unfolded in Washington, leaving everyone in disbelief. With Captain finally waking up, it was time for Street to return home, but not without a great parting gift. Besides this, Someone's bubble is about to burst, as the young fellows find one of their own behind bars. Darkness and uncertainty will overcome JR Swat, while 20 Squad fights a battle for the ages as the Convention Center becomes a battlefield with thousands of hostages. Finally, Marv's home situation becomes very complex, making the teen implode. His declarations play a huge part on Hondo's own godson, Calvin, who discovers his true calling in life in. By end, many questions still remain, but the mentors are confident that the teens are making progress on their development, especially mentally and psychologically.

So, with this in mind, we begin another adventure in the lives of the teenagers. Five On the Move, is the fifth book of the series, and...heads up, reader! It will have you going and going and going (from one page to the other, of course lol!). Baby issues, loneliness, STRIS meltdowns, teenager revolts and puppy love...all wrapped up in angst, action and adventure. So, buckle up!
