It's been a few days since I've been sitting here with what I overheard between Raheem and Azai and it wasn't much that I heard but I definitely heard the word baby mentioned in their conversation.
Was it possible that Azai was having a next kid? That's the only logical reason I could come up with to explain what I overheard.
It wasn't possible though, he would have said something to me or at least Sy'rai would have but if anything they've seemed to have grown closer unless...
"Yuh seh you wah talk" Raheem says, pulling me out of my thoughts and I look up at him.
After spending a day with Sy'rai for her birthday, I took a solo trip to one of our vacation homes in Ochi to clear my head.
Christmas was just a few days from now so I wasn't planning to stay long I just needed some time to myself.
I called Raheem telling him I needed to talk to him and I was a bit surprised he made the drive come this far given we haven't really been in contact.
"Yea mi kinda wah ask you something" I say to him and he nods, taking a seat beside me.
"The girl weh yuh mention inna yuh text couple weeks ago, how serious unuh be?" I asked and he looked away from me.
"We just a link, why?" he asks and I couldn't miss how his right eye twitched which was his tell whenever he was lying about something.
"Well, mi just wah know suh it wouldn't be awkward when mi tell yuh seh mi and Sekani a talk" I tell him and his head snapped towards me, anger written all over his face.
"A joke yah make right?" he asks and I shake my head.
"Why me would a joke bout that?" I questioned and he hissed his teeth, standing up.
"Cause yuh nuh sick inna yuh head fi gone fuck one of my best friends of all people" he says getting angry.
"Ok calm down because you were the one who said you weren't looking for anything serious suh wah the big deal?" I asked raising to my feet as well.
"The big deal is me never mean weh mi seh" he yells and I take a step back from him, not liking his tone.
"Mi should a know yuh would a do something like this eno, cyah trust woman fi keep dem legs closed" he adds and I glare at him cause this is rich coming from him.
"Says the community dick weh walk and fuck everything in sight, mi nuh know if yuh memory nuh good but it seems like yuh fi get seh a you take mi virginity germs" I argue pushing at his chest.
"Never see nuh evidence after we done suh how me fi know if a nuh that yuh tell every man plus it never take yuh long fi jump to a next one" he chastises and my eyes water at his hurtful words.
It's hard hearing this was the way he viewed me, especially coming for the only person I've ever trusted with my body.
"Really Raheem?" I ask softly, my voice quivering a little and his face softens a bit before being replaced with a stoic expression.
"Mi never mean that" he says trying to move closer to me but I take a step back.
"It's all good just avoid from now on" I tell him, walking away as the tears slip from my eyes.
