"Absolutely not!" Paul exclaimed, shooting down Edward's idea immediately, wrapping his arms around me.

"Paul-" I tried to reason but Carlisle cut me off

"It's the only way we can try and figure out the science behind it" he said but Paul didn't want to listen.

"You saw what it did to her! Jake thought she was dead! Sam, you can't be seriously considering this!"

"Paul, I don't want her to go through it again, but we haven't had any luck catching Luke, this could be our only opportunity" Sam explained

"It would be in a controlled environment" Edward added.

"You have to let me do this, Paul, nobody else can get hurt and with Luck out of the way it'll be a lot easier to get rid of Victoria" I pleaded with Paul, and I could tell he was slowly giving in.

"What about you, Embry? You haven't said anything yet." Paul noticed he had been silent for this entire part of the conversation.

"I don't like it" he paused, sighing and rubbing a hand down his face like he was a middle aged man who was stressed after a long day at work, "But it has to be done"

"When do we start?"

Half an hour later we had devised a plan that would hopefully get Luke to bring me to 'the well' again. I was going to be going to Bellas house, with Paul giving me a ride, and we would have a huge fight just past the border into the Cullen's territory. After, Paul would leave me alone on the side of the road and I would get lost tying to take a shortcut to Bella's house.

The entire plan depended on the weather. If it didn't start pouring like toe forecast said, it would be ruined because why else would I try to get to Bella's quicker. After finalizing details, the pack dispersed and he Cullen's went to go 'hunt' on their land.

"I love you, be safe" Sam said, hugging me before Embry did the same.

"You better catch this leech otherwise this was all a waste of my time" I replied, watching the two of them leave for the woods.

"You ready?" Paul asked, taking my hand

"Not really, but this needs to be done"

Paul

"I still don't understand why you want to hang out with the leech lover!" I exclaimed, looking over at Serena who cowered slightly in he seat.

"Paul, Bella is my friend! My only friend that's a girl! I need to get away from you guys!"

"You're going to get hurt! something is going to happen to you!" thunder rumbled in the distance

"I'm not going to get hurt! The Cullen's aren't that bad!"

"That's what you think!"

"Are you doubting my judgement?" she yelled at me as the rain started to fall

"Yeah! I am! You realize that they're going to turn Bella into a leech after graduation, right! Then you'll have no female friends!"

"Them turning Bella into a vampire does not mean that they're going to turn me into one too."

YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!"

"There you go again, questioning my judgement again! Tell me, Paul, am I using good or bad judgement by deciding to be with you!" ouch

"Are you serious right now! You're my IMPRINT, Serena! there is no judgement used in that kind of thing!"

"Maybe there should be" she whispered, tears pouring down her face as fast as the rain fell

"Get out" I told her, stopping the car

"what?"

"Get out of the car!"

"Paul, its pouring and we're nowhere near Bella's"

"I'm using good judgment to decide that we're done! Get out of my truck!"

"Paul! Please!" she sobbed. Tear were falling down my face as well

"Call your leech bestie to pick you up. What we had is done. I don't want to see you again"

I watched in agony as she nodded meekly, unbuckling and getting out of the car, getting drenched immediately. "Please, Paul. Don't leave me out here alone!"

I said nothing as I drove away, shaking with emotions. It may have been fake, but it sure as hell felt real.

Serena

I watched Paul's truck seed away from me, leaving me in the pouring rain all by myself. The tears of pain continued to pour out, sobs taking over my body and intense shivers following shortly after. Although it was a fake scenario to get Luke to attack me, it felt way to real to sit well with me.

Phase one was completed, now all that I needed to do was get lost in the woods. An easy task considering I didn't have a single clue as to where the heck I was. Despite coming down this road everyday for years to go to school, the pouring rain and darkening sky and my lack of directional knowledge put me at a disadvantage.

My first ten steps into the woods brought me tumbling down a hill. Who the hell decided it was a good idea to send me out right here? Oh right, fricking Edward's. I was slow to stand again, and for good reason. My clothes were covered in mud, sticks, leaves, and an increasing amount of blood.

I tried to assess my wounds as I stood, but it was dark as heck in here and I fell again. Giving up, I continued to move through the woods, hoping that the smell of my blood would attract Luke and not any other vampire lurking in the area.

The darkness proved to make my incoordination even worse. I hadn't even been in the woods for twenty minutes and I had fallen six times. My hair was matted, clothes covered in natures elements, and vision blurred. We agreed that if Luke didn't come for me within 45 minutes of Paul ditching me then we would call it quits and someone would come get me, but after everything I've been through tonight he better try and get me. There is no way I've fallen down hills, tripped over branches, and skinned the crap out of my legs just for Edward's plan to not work.

Before I even had the chance to pick myself up off the ground after my seventh fall, a familiar feeling took over my body. "Welcome back, Serena"
