Backstory:
Kuruma was born in a peaceful kingdom, cherished by loving parents and surrounded by the tranquility and prosperity of his homeland. However, his idyllic childhood was violently interrupted when a ruthless demoness led her army of ogres to ravage his town, bringing chaos and destruction. Forced to flee, Kuruma watched in horror as everything he knew was reduced to ashes. Despite his grief, a fire ignited within him, fueling his resolve to one day stand against the demon responsible for his pain.
Now residing in Oar's Rest, Kuruma lives with his adopted caretaker Elizabeth and childhood friend Ari. Though their home is hidden from the town's hero, Leo, they are forced to pay him tribute. Leo, having made a sinister pact with a Demon God, demands that Kuruma's family be driven from their home in exchange for his sword.
Kuruma and Ari were trained in combat by Leticia, the Amethyst Witch, who runs a shop in Oar's Rest and protects the townspeople with her magic. One day, after purchasing coal from his friend Maria, Kuruma delivers a letter to Leticia. She reveals a pink box containing a Desire Driver, Fantasy Raise Buckle, and his ID Core—a final gift from his birth parents, entrusted to Leticia until the right moment.
Later that night, the demoness Narissa was sent to evict Kuruma's family. Using a transport ring from the box, Kuruma safely teleports Elizabeth and Ari to Leticia before transforming to face Narissa. Though he fights valiantly, his strength falters, and he is defeated. Narissa, instead of killing him, places him on a raft, sending him downriver to an unknown fate. Kuruma awakens in a new town the next day, ready to begin his journey anew.

Kuruma is a friendly and cheerful young boy with an unshakable optimism and a big heart. He is fiercely loyal, brave, and always strives to see the best in people, even when his innocence and enthusiasm lead to awkward situations. Despite his trials, Kuruma remains hopeful and is ever willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
