The school season had finally ended.

'It's over.' Connor thinks to himself as he leaves the school building to return home. No stressing over school work, no more procrastinating on projects for science class, just a 3 month vacation from hell. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the summer that he can finally bond with his parents. When they can finally accept the real Connor.

After the 20 minute walk back home was finally over, he walks straight to his room, having the intention to become one with his family once they arrive home from work.

He hears the sound of his parents opening the wooden door loudly and comes out of his room to see his mother with a red face, kind of like she just got done running a marathon. He sees his father stumble in behind her with a puzzled expression on his face. "Come on. Let's get this over with!" His father shouts at his mother. He doesn't look sober but he doesn't look too drunk, luckily.

"Okay, okay. This isn't easy to do, John!" She almost shouts back but with a cracked voice.

"What's going on?!" Connor asks, standing in the doorway. Hopefully they both are being serious.

"C'mere Con." His mother says motioning with her hands.

Connors eyes dart left to right, dumbfounded. What the hell do they even mean??

"What's going on?" He repeats with a puzzled expression. He takes a seat on the wooden dining chairs, bracing himself for the news that could make or break his relationship with his parents.

"W-We have to send you to military school." His mother said barely being audible. But by god, he heard every word, sounding like a bomb waiting to blow up in his face. It took a while to register at first, almost like the words were in a foreign language. But it hit him in the end.

'It'll all be okay. They'll change their minds after all. Right? That's what parents do.' But not his. He wished his life was a lot more simple than he made it in public. In school, he hid it so well. So god damned well. That was his way of living. Hiding everything. Pushing people away that knew too much about him. Keeping the ones that knew his in school personality.

"How long?" The words running out of his mouth uncontrollably.

"For about 2 1/2 months? Maybe. You'll only be training nothing like what you're thinking. Trust us pl-"

"No. You can't do this. I'm only 17!" He's almost up out of his seat, tears brimming out of his eyes.

"Connor-" they try to call him back but he storms off into his room.

"Fuck!" He yells, kicking his bed frame with anger, soon to be washed over with sadness and betrayal.

He buries his head in his hands, trying to wake himself from the nightmare that was now engulfing his life.

'Please. Let it be over. .' His tears fall down his neck, slowly.

He hears his parents walk around in t he living room a few feet away, but no one comes.

Exactly what he expected.

After a few minutes of blurred vision due to tears, he finds his bed and drifts off to sleep.
