"W-w-what?!" He manages to stutter, his mouth agape.

"You have to leave. In two days." His father repeats but the words stills make no sense. Only his fast breaths make noise in the spaced room.

"You don't mean that do you?" He asks once the words finally register.

"Yes, Connor. Your mother and I weren't planning it. It just happened. We got an email for the boarding school and they told us that we'll have to send you earlier." This was the first time he had heard pity in his fathers voice. Connor had never seen this side of him. His voice was soft and quiet. Almost too quiet to hear.

"Oh." Is all he could say before stumbling back into his room with the glass of water neglected in the kitchen.

He knew it would end up this way. It always had. He finally lets all of the anger, sadness, frustration out that he's felt the last few days.

His breaths are rapid, his face is warm and his vision goes blurry. Tears slide down his cheeks and spill onto his pants, creating dark spots.

"I won't do it." Connor whispers to himself. He vowed he wouldn't go down without a fight. He had two days. Two days to make the most of.

He wouldn't go down without a fight.
