CHAPTER 9
Lisa's POV
I woke up to the soft chirping from the birds as a ray of light shut through the corners of the room. It felt warm, fuzzy and good. I turned and saw my best friend right next to me. I chuckled.

"This human is really a lot nowadays. She has her room and won't sleep there." I thought to myself while I used the pillow to nudge her slighlty with an attempt to wake her up.  She was even drooling.

"Why am I being woken up like I am preparing for deliverance?" She asked frowning. She looked like a wet and lost puppy. This obviously isn't my bestie, I thought standing akimbo looking into her eyes as she struggled to keep them open.

"Well, it's morning sister, and we have businesses to tend to. So, get your butt up, CEO." I answered her, grinning to myself. She looked so upset but who cares. She's got responsiblities and I can't watch her slack in any way. I turned to get towel and headed into the bathroom when I heard my phone ring.

"Good morning baby, how are you doing today?" Ivory asked from the other side of the phone. His voice does some crazy things to me. I was slightly hot and bothered from just hearing his voice. I nodded to myself and I knew that I was a finished woman.

"I am fine, sweetheart. I just woke up and I am preparing to go to work. I have a meeting with a client in the next three hours.  I would also need to stop by my office to cross-check some work." I rambled but explained in details.

"Oh, baby! You work too hard. You need to take breaks and rest too. I know you enjoy working but take it easy for me, Ok?" he replied with the sweetest charm in his voice.

"Yes, boss! Got it." I replied, giggling to myself.

"Alright then, baby. Have a great day. See you later at dinner by 8pm. Don't forget we have reservations and don't be late. I love you sunshine."

"I love you too, Papii" I replied smiling as I began to stare into space.

I shook my head and stood in front of the mirror smiling. I knew in that moment I was drunk in love. I've fallen really hard and it was gonna take a miracle to get me back up.

I called my driver after an hour  to get the car ready. Today is already a good day.  I walked down to the car slowly reciting my mantras; "Today is a good day. I am strong, beautiful and capable." At the third recite,  I see a lot of camera men, clicks here and there right outside my apartment. One of the reporters ran to me and began quizzing me. I was confused and so I hurriedly scuttled into  the car and headed to the office.

I rushed upstairs and looked into my bag for my phone. I was still dumbfounded about what happened that my phone almost fell on the hard floor. Immediately I called Ivory.

"Hi baby, how are...."
"You won't believe what happened right outside my house." I cut him short. "I was ambushed by a bunch of camera men right outside the house. How did they know? Who could have tipped them off? I am so uncomfortable about it. Plus....."

"Baby, Relax." I heard his calm voice and it was then I realized I was struggling to catch my breathe. It's because of me and I am sorry about that. Can you please breathe? I get t sorted, I promise." He said in such an affirming but soothing tone.

"Ok, babe. See you soon. I would be going for my meeting now and we would talk later by lunch. I love you." I replied trying, to organize myself.

"Ok love. Have fun and be careful, ok? And as always, I love you a lot."

We both hung up and I called my driver again. I needed to get this meeting sorted ASAP. I headed towards the elevator looking beautiful as always reciting my mantras
