"Are you kidding me!?" Moon yelled. He had been working on this project for the past few days, and he still couldn't get it right.

It was supposed to help Sun with cleaning the daycare floors, so that he didn't have to waste his time deep cleaning them. Nothing special, but nooo, it just had be more complicated than it should have been, despite it being an over glorified Roomba.

Moon glared at the machine. Then he heard someone clearing their throat. "Um... Moon?"

Moon whirled around to find Monty standing awkwardly behind him. They were holding up a bouquet of blue flowers. Moon blinked at them.

"Uhh...," Monty shuffled from foot to foot. "Should I come back later?"

Moon stared at them for a moment longer. "Why do you have flowers?"

Monty shuffled some more, their face turning a darker green. "Uhh... Well I was hoping to give them to you."

Moon blinked again. "What."

Monty looked extremely embarrassed. "Well umm yeah. I wanted to give them to you. Cause your always giving me stuff, y'know?" They seemed to take the shocked look on Moon's face as something negative. "Y- you don't have to take them, actually I think I'll just go throw 'em out, I don't know why I thought you'd like them in the first place..." They trailed off into muttering, quickly turning to leave.

Moon finally unfroze, jumping out of his seat and scrambling torwards them. "Wait!"

Monty turned around quickly, coming almost chest to chest with Moon. Moon stood there, staring awkwardly at them. What was he supposed to say now?

He nervously took the flowers from Monty. "Thank you. ... they're, uhh, very pretty." He turned around hiding his face in them, embarrassed.

Monty looked like Christmas had come early, though Moon couldn't see this. "You're welcome." They shuffled more. "I think I'm gonna go now." They quickly moved out the door.

"Okay... bye." Moon gave an awkward wave over his shoulder. God, why was he so flustered! It was just flowers!

.................

A few days later, Monty was back. Moon was outside of the daycare working on the go-karts. He was beginning to understand why that Nice Eclipse was always so annoyed at the go-karts in his world.

Moon muttered angrily at the kart. He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, whipping around and jabbing a wrench at whoever it was.

Monty stepped back, out of the reach of the jab. Moon stopped trying to stab them, flushing when he realized who it was.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see that it was you," Moon quickly apologized.

Monty shook their head at him. "It's fine." They were holding a box with some wrapping paper on it. It looked like some sort of gift.

Moon shuffled around so that he could sit on the edge of the go-kart he was working on. "So what are you doing here?"

Monty looked embarrassed. "I, uhh, I got you something." They held up the present.

'Again?!' Moon thought. He was going to overheat if Monty kept bringing him gifts. "...Really?"

Monty nodded quickly. "Yeah, here." They set the box in Moon's lap, then sat cross legged on the floor. "Open it."

Moon flushed and began opening the box. Once he got the paper off he took the lid off and stared at the contents.

Monty looked nervously up at Moon. "Do you like it?" They had put a lot of thought into the gift. What to get the guy who could have everything, y'know?

Science stuff was out of the question, Moon already had most of that stuff. Things for the daycare was more of a Sun kinda gift. Eventually Monty had just gone with new clothes for Moon. Something Moon would never buy for himself, cause he didn't think he needed them.

Moon stared in shock at the clothes in the box. He pulled the top thing off to see that it was a large blue sweater with yellow stars sewn into it. He could see a pair of pants with basically the same style as his normal pants, but these were cleaner, and didn't have the dumb ruffles sewn on.

Monty shuffled. ".. Moon?"

Suddenly, Moon dropped the sweater back into the box and pushed it aside. Then he slid off of the go-kart and threw his arms around Monty's neck. "Thank you... they're lovely."

Monty flushed. "You're welcome." They felt very proud of themselves.

Moon let go of them, jumping up and grabbing the box of clothes. "I'm going to go put them on," he told them happily. "I'll be back in a moment!" He scrambled off towards the teleporter.

Monty watched him go, a large smile on their face. Man could Moon be cute sometimes.

...............

Moon moved quickly down the hall, struggling to keep a hold on the stuff he was holding. Around an hour ago Monty had called him and asked whether he could bring them some medicine. They had apparently gotten some sort of human virus. That's why Moon would never turn biorganic like the others.

Moon opened the door to Monty's little camper, looking around nervously. He could see a little kitchenette off to one side, and a desk off to another. Moon saw Monty laying on a bed in the corner and quickly moved over to them. "Monty?"

Monty groaned, opening their eyes and looking up at Moon. "Oh thank God. I was worried there for a moment." They shifted and sat up. "Give me that." Monty took the medicine and opened it. They then began to just drink straight from the bottle.

Moon yelped in alarm. "No! What are you doing?!" He quickly grabbed the bottle and pulled it away from them. Monty growled at him trying to grab the bottle back. Moon held it out of their reach.

"Nuh uh. There's a specific amount of medicine you can have. Anything over that and you could overdose."

Monty looked at Moon in amusement. "Moon, darling, those are based on weight. I go over all of the weight limits so for the medicine to actually work on me."

Moon paused for a moment. "...oh." Then he did a double take. "What did you call me?!"

Monty looked embarrassed. "Uhhhh, nothing!" They reached out and grabbed the bottle from Moon and quickly downed the rest of the medicine.

"No, not nothing! You called me darling!" Moon was a bit flustered.

"No."

"Yes."

"No!"

"Yes you did!"

"No I didn't!"

"Monty!"

"Alright, maybe I did. What are you gonna do about it?" Monty looked nervous now, worried about what Moon would say.

Moon hesitated. "...Well maybe I might say that it's okay, and that I didn't mind." He shuffled nervously.

"...oh." Monty looked a bit shocked. "... well what if I said that your very cool and I'd like to go on a date with you, hm?"

Moon flushed worse. He crossed his arms nervously. "Well I might say that I'd love to go on a date with you, when you're feeling better."

"... well, maybe it's a date."

"Maybe."

There was silence for a moment. Then Monty burst out laughing, Moon joining in soon after.

"C'mere." Monty reached out and pulled Moon onto the bed with them. Then they laid down hugging Moon.

Moon smiled at them. "Good night Monty."

"Good night darling."
