pointless endeavors

She reluctantly got dressed as pounding on her door aswell as in her head ensued. She knew what she would do, what she always did. She would slip her way out after 1 or 2 drinks and be back in time to get atleast 6 hours before her first class the next morning.

She headed out, Sooyoung on one arm and Haseul on the other. Hyeju was noticeably taller than both girls so the formation looked strange to those passing by. The girl on her left, Haseul, she had met in high school. They were never super close but she had a motherly energy that drew Hyeju close to her if she was feeling down. Haseul was the only person Hyeju came close to telling about her and Dana's breakup, but she still never did.

They walked for what felt like forever but eventually the screams of similarity indicated that they had arrived at their destination...

Jeungeun and Jinsoul, they'd been together a couple months and were still very-much honeymooning. Jiwoo, Sooyoung's girlfriend of 3 years, Hyeju hated to admit it but, they were adorable sometimes. They clicked, Sooyoung had changed when she met Jiwoo. Changed for the good. Then Vivi, Haseul's girlfriend. They had been together awhile too, nobody really knew about it until recently. They all felt very stupid to find out. Then Hyeju, the odd one out. Even when Hyeju was in a relationship, they stayed home or didn't see eachother at all. Their relationship was extremely private, almost as if Dana didn't want anyone to know about it....

They waited in line and eventually made their way inside the sticky-floored, grungy but somehow the hot-spot club in town. All Hyeju could smell was feet. Her face cringed at the sight but suprisingly, she got used to it quickly.

She ordered one drink, a coke, but swore there was vodka in it when her friends asked. A couple other girls joined them in the club. Girls from college who Hyeju barely knew. They danced for a little while and Hyeju started her escape plan. She told Sooyoung she was headed to the bathroom. She wasn't. She walked right out the door. Sooyoung, Haseul and all the others knew exactly what she was doing but they didn't want to force her to stay. They carried on dancing as they always did.

Hyeju made her way back to campus alone. She walked and walked but it never seemed to end, until it did. 'What a pointless endeavour' She thought... 'What a stupid reason to leave the house'... She thought some more.

As she was walking however she noticed a couple, not a happy one. A guy screaming at a girl much smaller than him. The guy was scrawny so Hyeju made her way over to the pair. She recognised the girl, not the guy. "What's the problem, dude?" She asked, loudly. She made a few more steps closer. "Huh? What's the problem?" She asked again. He let go of the girl's arm abruptly and she fell to the floor. Hyeju immediately grabbed her hand, made sure she was okay. The guy ran.

"Thank you." The small girl uttered after a few seconds of catching her breath.
"No problem." Hyeju Replied "Is that jerk your boyfriend?" Hyeju continued.
"No. God, no! I've never met him before. He followed me back to my dorm and I ran away." The girl paused.
"I've seen him so many times over the past few weeks and I've been getting weird voicemails on my phone... I think he's stalking me..."
The girl uttered.

"Oh God, I'm so sorry that happened" Hyeju said after she took it all in.
"What's your name?" Hyeju asked.
"Chaewon... Park Chaewon" The girl, Chaewon, replied. "You're Son Hyeju, right?" She added.

"Yeah, that's me..." Hyeju said.

"Hey, come with me, let's get you cleaned up." Hyeju added after a few seconds of silence.

She picked Chaewon up off of the ground and wrapped an arm around her so she could have some support whilst walking.
