_Britain often found solace in his personal library, spending long hours immersed in deep thought. Brooding had become a favorite pastime for him over the years, a reflection of his contemplative nature. As he sat among the shelves of books, memories from a bygone era stirred within him, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The familiar smell of aging pages and the weight of knowledge accumulated over the years, he hadn't been in here for quite some time lately he's been fixing his sorrows with getting drunk and getting a kick out of pissing off continental Europe- oh how he missed it when Europe feared him
Not too long ago Britain had once ruled over the most powerful empire the world had ever known. It was a time where the sun never set on his dominion and Britannia's influence reached every corner of the world. Those were the glory days, a pinnacle of power and grandeur. Yet these past decades the weight of his empire began to crumble. The aftermath of WW2 dealt a severe blow to the European Empires, During the war Britain's son America had grown in influence and power. At first, Britain didn't pay much attention, amusing that America would simply provide him with weapons if any more conflicts were to arise. However, the Reich left him weakened, both physically and emotionally.
The capture of his wife, the bombings in London once again on the other hand, America seemed untouched by the war. It appeared as if this conflict had been a breeze for him; he was thriving, economically and militarily. Unlike Britain, America had not experienced severe damage by the Reich,Japan or Italy on his homeland. Sure there was pearl harbor but in Britains mind that was barely anything. Due to the lend lease program he and fellow allied nations had found themselves in heavy debt to the United States; This, along with the rise of the Soviet Union, contributed to the decline of Britain's empire. The Cold War brought new ideas, with decolonization being the main one that Britain had a huge problem with. In a bid to salvage its pride, Britain engaged in wars in the late 1970s. Yet, deep within, it acknowledged the futility of its efforts. America had assumed the mantle of a global superpower, and the emergence of the Soviet Union added to Britain's diminishing relevance. No longer relied upon by the world, Britain felt a growing sense of irrelevance and fading significance
With a sigh, Britain's gaze scanned the shelf, sweeping across the rows until something very familiar caught his eye. Intrigued by the sight, he reached out, grabbing the object, and settled back into his seat, now curious about what it could be. The book appeared dusty, clearly untouched for a considerable time. However, this was not surprising, as most of the books in this section seemed to have remained untouched since the early 20th century, wiping away the dust, Britain uncovered the title, hoping it might be one of his cherished King Cameolot books from his youth, or even the tales of High Chief Beronmere, the ancient Anglo-Saxon literature he adored from long ago.To his surprise , he came across something he believed he had burned decades ago.
This object had several names written on it, though most were crossed out, but he managed to decipher a few, including "GRET Brtin" and "The Woeful Life of Me." The rest of the names were illegible; the first name, clearly penned by a child's hand, could be readily deciphered, leading to the safe assumption that it was indeed written by him centuries ago. He had entirely forgotten about this book and was convinced he had discarded it. However, curiosity got the better of him, even though he was well aware of how embarrassing it would be. The Briton opened it and skimmed through what were "chapters," finding mostly incoherent ramblings from his foolish, younger self about his family. He kept on skimming until he reached a certain page the first thing that caught his attention was the date, "16th, March,1707"
