Ivy wasn't always like this. She had friends, she went out, she was present in life. Now she just sits and stares off into space. No one in the care center knows where she goes in that mind of hers. She is sometimes lucid, but when she is she speaks complete thoughts, phrases that make you really question the thin line between what is real and what we simply believe is real.

She was diagnosed with schizophrenia at age sixteen, it's been five years. I have been her care taker for two of those five. Her family has told me that she first showed signs when she would fall asleep randomly and the wake up and have no recalection of what had happened. This went on for two years, until one day she slipped away from reality and never came back. That's the day she was diagnosed, and she has been that way ever sense.

( this takes place in her alternate universe)

"Wake me up before you go go, don't leave me hangin on like a yo-yo" my alarm clock blared until I hit snooze. I hopped out of bed to go get myself some coffee, then I walked back upstairs and into my room. I sat down at my desk, popped all of my joints, and opened up my laptop and stared at the black cursor pulsating at me waiting for my first word to be typed in. Nothing, I was typing nothing, thinking nothing.

My mind's blank, I have have nothing to write about. I sat there for a good twenty minutes before deciding I needed inspiration. I put some clothes on and walked out of my house and took a walk. I wasn't particularly going to a certain destination, just walking aimlessly around. I am drawn out of my thoughts by someone knocking into me,and everything went black.

..............................................................................

"Ivy, Ivy why are you doing out of your room?" Said the man who had just ran into me, he was in all white.

"Who are you?"

"Nate, your care taker." "Let's get you back into your room." The man, Nate, said while placing his hands on my shoulders. We walked back into my room. He sat me on a chair and examined me. Then he spoke into a device and said she's lucid.

"Ivy do you know where you are?"

"No, I don't." "Why am I here."

" It's gonna be okay Ivy, calm down." He said while handing me some purple pills and a water.

"What are those for?" I said as I looked up at him

"You're headaches." He said. I took the pills and felt dizzy. Then everything went black.

..................................................................

"Hey are you okay, you took quite the fall?" Said the man standing above me.

"Yeah I am fine and you are?"

" Oh, the names Nate, I am sorry for plowing over." He said while grabbing my hand and pulling me up.

"Ivy, nice meeting you but I kind of need to go." "Bye."

"Good bye Ivy."

I walked home with no inspiration but that didn't stop from thinking about Nate. I feel like I have seen him some where before. Deciding not to dwell on it I walked into my house and walked upstairs and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
