I can't help myself but to gasp for breath when I reached the roof top. My eyes were shut off as I inhaled the warm, yet crispy breeze that filled the whole air. The wind touched my shoulders and swayed my wavy hair backwards.

My mouth was in agape as I stared at the breath-taking view in front of me. They say, "Sunsets are happy endings". Definitely it is.

Sunsets are hopeful endings for a new beginning.

My vision was fixed on the sky that was inflamed by reddish hues, melting the clouds like sparkling gold. It was six in the afternoon and the sun was about to set.

I knelt my knees and sat on the warm cemented floor, a few meters away from the edge of the roof top. It's better to stay safe, ya know.

I searched for my phone in my pack bag and scrolled down on it. The date indicated in my lock screen hooked my attention.

"It's her birthday." I whispered to myself.

My hands trailed on the guitar that I hung at the back of my left shoulder. I uncovered it, and started strumming my favorite BTS Song which is "Spring Day"- a song about longing someone you love, but you can't be with them no matter how much you wanted because,

"Fate is cruel most of the times and doesn't side in your present favor."

"Spring Day (봄날) (English Cover- Ysabelle Cuevas)"

(Originally by BTS)

I'm missing you

And I don't know what to do

I'm missing you

These pictures just remind me of you

I miss you

And time is just so cruel, I hate this

Trying to see you once

Never worked out once

Where do we find the chance?

Cebu City, Philippines- 20 years ago

Fionna swinged her feet back and forth, while her head stared at the white ceiling above, which had become a familiar sight for six months. Though, she was reluctant to attend the numerous therapy sessions. She had no choice but to do so. Her mother wouldn't permit a chance for her psychological healing. Every month they have to travel for hours to reach the hospital where a therapist is available. The Philippines had close to none professionals that were engaged in curing mental illnesses.

After that night, when Fionna unintentionally stabbed her step dad's stomach that made him hospitalized for weeks. She wasn't able to utter a single word. An innocent five-year-old could never bear to hurt someone, not even her violent- addict step-father. She lost her mind when she witnessed how her step dad had tried to shot her mother in front of her. She had no choice but, in any means, save her mother, who single- handedly raised her before she met her step-father.

Her face gleamed as she saw her mother walking out from the door. She was pre-occupied at the paper she held in her hand. Her brows knitted while she read the figures written. Fionna ran towards her and hugged her in no second. Her mother's facial expression had lightened up and hugged her back. She knelt down and patted her shoulders.

"Lang, makabalik najud ka ug eskwela." (You can go back to school now my daughter.)

"Tinoud ma? Yehey......". (Is it true? Mother?) She asked. Her mother nodded and clasped her tiny hands. They walked together outside the hospital.
