Steren couldn't be in the house today, it was her sister's day. Jocelyn had always taught the youngest Fray that she needed to learn when she was not welcome, this was after the incident of the girl thinking that she would be joining them on their painting day together.
After years of being yelled at or hit, the young girl realized how not welcome she was in her own home. Everyone seemed happier when she was gone, it was sad but she had learnt that she did not want to be around then either.

Sitting on a bench in the park Steren Fray fed the little animals in the park with some bread she had bought in the morning. A small squirrel quickly snatched a small nut from the collection in her palm.
This caused the girl to smile however she was pulled out of her Bubble of bliss by her phone ringing.

Steren pulled her cracked phone from her bag and hit accept. "Hello, who is this?"

"Get your ungreatful ass home, it's Clary's birthday and you need to bake her a cake."
Sighing at the time she was used to from her mother Steren confirmed she was on her way home.

Steren regrettably left the peace she had found in a secluded corner of the park. Here she felt safe, the place felt almost whimsical and magical. Mabey it had been a feeling developed by an eight year old looking for a piece of comfort but Steren loved the place.

On her walk home she could feel something unseleling in the air, the girl felt uncomfortable and unlike usual rushed to get home.

Opening the doors to the shop below the apartment, Steren saw Jocelyn's assistant dot giving Clary a gift. That reminded her that she still needed to give her sister the gift she chose.
Clary was never satisfied with her gifts by Steren never gave up, she wanted to give her a gift she would love.

Dot caught the youngest redhead' eyes, something about dot never sat right with her. Dot was some sort of psychic that read tarot cards and could tell the future however many dif not believe her. Well Noether did Steren but the young woman's eyes held a glint indicating knowledge no one else had.
Dot was weird, that was the verdict that she had come to so long ago.

Steren pulled her eyes from the knowing woman and snuck upstairs after remembering the whole reason as to why Jocelyn had allowed her back to the apartment.
Steren didn't mind baking, it was fun when she could experiment and make something new. However she was never good when given a recipe and instructions on what to make. It just felt too restrictive.

While Steren baked a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, the other two Frays hugged as the eldest congratulated her daughter in getting into her dream art academy followed by a birthday gift which was a so called family heirloom.
Once the cake was finished Steren left it on the side and went up to her room.

No matter how used to it she may be steren still hated how she was never good enough for her family or how she was 'too much like her father'.
She was forced to watch from the sidelines everyday as her mother hugged Clary and even Simon while she was hit and told to leave them alone as if she was some pest Jocelyn couldn't get rid off.

Jocelyn had a big issue to deal with, Clary wouldn't stay home, the protections were wearing off and she had still not told her daughter the truth. The only consolation she got was that Clary had promised her breakfast in the morning, Jocelyn could tell her then. Nothing would happen as long as she told her daughter tomorrow.
She however felt relief when her husband Luke garroway who she had married in secret 3 years ago.

Jocelyn showed her husband the drawings worried the protection was already wearing off. He had offered to help me tell Clary but it was my choice so I had to take responsibility.
"What about Steren, you know what will happen with her?"
"Not now Luke, she can never know. Magnus is refusing to help so I am looking for other solutions."

"OFCOURSE HE WOULDN'T, WHAT YOUR ASKING IS TORTURE." Luke and Jocelyn always fought about Jocelyn's treatment of her youngest. Luke wouldn't lie and say he couldn't understand why Jocelyn didn't like her daughter but how could someone hate Steren.

Though he had spent limited time with the young girl he had learnt she was kind and compassionate. She had a love for baking, writing and dancing. Luke quickly developed a soft spot for Steren, he had accepted she was nothing like valentine but his wife refused to see reason.

Their fight was interrupted by Clary walking in her way to get to her best friends concert.
