Zay- "Ooh, let's go there!"

"No, that place looks shady as hell." -MD

Zay pouted his lip and huffed.

Zay- "Why don't you want to do anything fun? You party pooper."

MD rolled her eyes and sighed.

"I'm just saying, that place looks super shady to go into. We could be kidnapped for all we know!" -MD

Zay- "You're being paranoid."

"And you're being stupid, like usual." -MD

Zay gasped and wiped a fake tear away.

Zay- "You're so mean to me."

MD chuckled and continued walking alongside Zay. She looked at a small cafe across the street.

"Why don't we go there? It looks pretty cozy." -MD

Zay looks over at where she's looking. He thinks for a moment before smiling.

Zay- "Sure! I'm hungry anyway!"

"You're always hungry, stupid." -MD

Zay- "Am not! I'm still growing, that's all!"

"You stopped growing around the age of 18 or earlier. You're 24 now. I'm still 5'2 and I'm 22!" -MD

Zay laughed and patted her head. She swatted at his hand.

They cross the street and look around. It's fairly lit up, especially the cafe. Zay mentioned MD to enter the cafe first.

"If I die, I'm dragging you with me." -MD

Zay- "Yeah yeah, it's nothing I haven't heard before."

MD headed inside first with Zay behind her. The place is fairly empty, to neither of their dismay. They see two employees and one other person ordering. They walk in further.

"What do you want to get?" -MD

Zay- "I don't know, I've never been here before. What are you getting?"

"I don't know. I'll have to see if they have a coffee that's somewhat mainly made of chocolate." -MD

Zay looked at her and sighed.

Zay- "That order is just as confusing as you are."

MD lightly slapped his arm and waited for the person in front of them to finish ordering. They waited a few more seconds before it was their turn.

Zay- "You go first."

"No, you go first. I don't know what I want yet." -MD

Zay- "I don't know what I want either."

The employee in front of them quietly laughed at them for being indecisive.

"Just take your time, there's no rush here."

Zay and MD nodded their heads as they continued to look at the menu.

"Do you have any coffee that has a lot of chocolate in it?" -MD

The employee, who's name tag said 'Esther', thought for a moment before nodding their head.

"We do! We have a sweet mocha with whipped cream and chocolate chips on top. How does that sound?" -Esther

"That sounds good. And can I get a sugar cookie with that?" -MD

"Of course! And for you, sir?" -Esther

MD took a step to the side and let Zay move closer to the counter.

Zay- "Can I get a French vanilla latte?"

"Sure thing! Anything else for you two?" -Esther

MD shook her head and got her wallet out. She paid for their stuff and they went to a table to sit down at. As they waited, they started talking about how the rest of school was going for MD.

The conversation went from school to the future and from there, it went in so many directions. They stopped talking when they heard their names being called for their drinks.

They walked up to the counter, grabbed their drinks and food. They waved at Esther and said their 'goodbye'.

Zay- "That wasn't so bad. It was nice there."

"It was really nice there. I liked it. What time is it anyway?" -MD

Zay looked at his phone.

Zay- "It's 1 AM. Have anywhere you have to go later today?"

MD shook her head and took a drink of her chocolatey coffee.

"Nope. What about you?" -MD

Zay shook his head.

Zay- "I don't have work today, so no. I can annoy you all day today though."

MD rolled her eyes.

"Oh boy. Yay." -MD

Zay laughed and took a drink of his French vanilla latte. MD looked up at the sky and admired the stars.

"Nights like these are my favorite. You can see the sky clearly." -MD

Zay looked at her and nodded.

Zay- "Yeah, it's always pretty to look at."

MD took another sip of her drink.

"We should probably head back home. Which house are we staying at? Mine or yours?" -MD

Zay- "Yours. Mine's a mess."

MD groaned and lightly hit her head on his arm.

"When is it not a mess? I'm not cleaning it again." -MD

Zay laughed.

Zay- "I never said you had to clean it in the first place!"

"I know, but it needed my help." -MD

They both laughed as they walked down the street, holding each other's hand.

They never got tired of each other. It's a surprise to some. And to others, it's nothing new. They enjoyed each other's company and they wouldn't change it for the world.
