chapter 5|party people

after getting Matthews text my heart filled with butterflies. a party? the me that I was trying to be would say no, because I was clean of drugs and alcohol and doing other bad things. but ever since Matthew came I've kind of transformed into old me. I was starting to get all my old dirty habits back.

I responded quickly
sure, where?

Matthew: it's at this kid masons house

me: ok can I meet you there?

Matthew: yeah, be there at 7

me: sounds good, can Shawn come?

Matthew: yeah, but he can't get in the way of our time;)

me: ok Matthew;)

"hey Shawn wanna go to a party?" I said.

"uhhthh when you ask me to go to a party it usually turns out loud and obnoxious and all i get from it is a headache" he said clicking off his computer.

"pleaseeee I'll drive" I begged. Shawn needed to get out more.

"ugh fine Kacy I'll go"

I cheered and dragged him down the stairs. we let his mom know we were leaving and hopped in my car. Matthew texted me the address and we took off. Shawn messed with the radio until he found a good song. masons house was only 10 minutes away so we got there fast. I parked my car down the street and walked with Shawn to the front door. I could smell alcohol, weed, sweaty bodies, and lots of people. the front door was slightly open, until a hand pulled it open.

it was Matthew

"heyyy Kacy" he said handing me a drink.

"hey" I said hugging him and taking it.

"Kacy you really shouldn't drink that" Shawn said eyeing the cup of alcohol.

"Shawn. go get laid" Matthew said leading me inside the house.

I could practically see Shawn's eyes roll into the back of his head as he slowly followed us inside. people were dancing and the music was shaking the whole house. across the big room, I saw jack, with his arm around Madison. I shouldn't really say his arm around her since his hand was just touching her ass. I made awkward eye contact with jack and I could see his eyes get all dark and mad. I just continued following Matthew deeper into the house.

he lead me to a group of people sitting in the back yard with joints.

"Kacy? you down?" he said.

I kinda had to think about it. but when Matthews brown evil eyes looked into mine, it was impossible to say no. so I joined the circle sitting next to Matthew and rolled myself a joint. after about 20 minutes of that, I was getting pretty loopy. so was Matthew.

"so, I'm gonna go lay down and try to get sober so I can drive" he said.

at least he was smart about that.

I nodded as he dizzily walked into the house. I laughed watching him. he didn't seem super high but it was still dangerous driving conditions. luckily Matthew seemed like the kinda guy to get sober after a 20 minute nap.

after he disappeared into the house, I got up and went in too. maybe Shawn was somewhere in there. I wobbled my way over and slipped through the sliding glass door. sure enough, there he was.

"Kacy can we go" he said.

"no wayyyy" I said falling into him.

"how high are you" he said holding me up.
