Young morrigan's pov

I stand still . looking down at the corpse of a woman I no longer recognise. My eyes glaze over as I just stand there. Looking . longing for her warmth and care. Longing for my mother. I refuse to cry , I can't cry , Alice needs me. Now our mother is gone, we are alone. Our father was never there for us . it's obvious now i have grown up he never wanted us.
Looking down at the younger girl, I see the tears in her eyes. She is now 16 and i am 18 . i wrap my arms around her, comforting her as our mother would have. She clings to my jacket for the rest of the funeral. I glance at our father. He is not crying or shaking . He just holds the tissue in his hand. The only sign he was her husband is the ring on his finger.
By the next day, it was gone.

I spent most of the night reading and staring up at the sky. I find time seems to stop when I do. Before I realise it's morning and we are all preparing for school. Edward seems especially on edge today. He speeds everywhere and his face is constantly drawn into a frown. Once we are all in the kitchen he speaks up.
"Can you do me a favour and wait a few minutes before walking in," he says, making me smirk . snickering a little I speak for all of us and say "sure can lover-boy " causing the rest to laugh.

Walking through the door of the cafeteria, we make our way to the table. I can smell her blood immediately and it makes me thirsty. I glance back to see Jasper tense up, eyes turning a shade darker underneath his contacts. I put my hands in my short pockets and hold my head up high. Focusing in on the conversation between the swan girl and the people talking to her. not caring for their names.
"Who are they ?" Bella says, speaking to the whole table. The brunette on the left replies "the cullens, doctor and Mrs Cullen's foster kids , they moved out here from Alaska like, a few years ago" the nicer one Angela replies " they keep to themselves"
None of us have probably even spoken to one of the human students before. Most consider it dangerous for them , but for those that struggle with the thirst do it so they don't attack them. It's easier that way.
" yeah cause they're all together, like together together .The blonde girl, that's Rosalie. And the big dark haired guy Emmett, there like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal". This causes me to smirk as I can already see that comment annoyed Rosalie.
"Jess there not actually related "
"Yeah but they live together , it's weird."" Ok so the tall girl with the shades that's Morrigan Jamie, she's kind of intimidating, go careful what you say near her, she gets really defensive." she says, making me scoff remembering the last time . she was calling Alice and some of it made me so annoyed that i punched her , going careful as to only break her nose. She's not spoke near me at all since.
" And ok the little dark haired girl Alice, she's really weird . and erm.. She's with Jasper, the blonde one who looks like he's in pain. " The comment about my sister makes me tense up, and my eyes turn red again. Thankfully I'm still wearing my shades. I glare at the girl called jess so much she turns round sees it's me and her eyes widen in fear, turning back quick enough to give a human whiplash
" Doctor Cullen is like this foster dad slash matchmaker" she says trying to change the topic.
"Maybe he'll adopt me "
"Who's he?" swan says to them.
"That's Edward Cullen, he's totally gorgeous obviously but apparently nobody here's good enough for him. Like I care, you know. So, yeah. Seriously like don't waste your time " jealousy and annoyance coaxed her voice as she spoke.
The swan girl nodded, keeping eye contact with Edward who was the last to walk in and sit down.After a few minutes of constant staring,I unblocked my thoughts so he could hear and said in it, 'stop staring, it's making her uncomfortable.' Blocking off again. I know he heard as he turned to me and nodded
Swan visibly relaxed but kept glancing over at him.
Alice kept giggling at Edward, making him look down in embarrassment. Jasper says in his thick accent " don't go falling in love with a human Edward. We all know the cost " making everyone at the table sober up.
