001 : facetime call

-

I WAS ABOUT to do something big, something that would change my life forever. My heart raced as I reached for my phone, my fingers hovering over Jake's contact. I could hardly contain my excitement as I pressed the button, eagerly waiting for the familiar sound that would connect us, even though we were miles apart.

In a moment, the screen lit up, and there was Jake, my dear brother. His face glowed softly in the light of his phone, and I couldn't help but smile wide, feeling a wave of happiness wash over me. "Hi, Jake!" I greeted him, my voice bubbling with eagerness. The sound filled my quiet room, matching the excitement I felt inside. "How are you?"

"Hey, Riri! I'm good, but I'm a bit tired," Jake replied, his voice heavy with fatigue. "We've had a lot of photo shoots this week." I could easily picture him, worn out from all the work he was doing. Knowing he was busy made me feel for him, even from a distance.

"What about you?" he asked, his concern cutting through the miles between us. It was nice to know he cared, and it wrapped me in a warm feeling of brotherly love.

"I'm good! We miss you," I said, a smile appearing on my face. The warmth of family filled my heart as I thought about our parents. They were always reminding me to check on him and make sure he was okay. "Mom and Dad keep asking about you and telling me to call you to make sure you're taking care of yourself." I chuckled softly, imagining their concerned faces.

Jake's smile brightened the screen, and I felt the distance between us shrink. "I miss you guys too," he said, a hint of nostalgia in his voice that tugged at my heart. "Tell them I've been taking care of myself." His grin made me nod in agreement.

Curious about his surroundings, I glanced past his shoulder to see what his room looked like. It seemed like he was lying on his bed, taking a short break from his busy life. "So, what are you up to?" he asked, genuinely interested.

A grin spread across my face as I replied, "Nothing much, just packing." The words hung in the air, full of excitement and mystery, teasing him with the promise of something special.

There was a brief pause, and I could feel the electric charge of anticipation between us. Jake's eyes widened, mirroring my excitement. "Packing? What... why?" he asked, clearly intrigued.

My heart raced as I knew it was time to share my big news. The words were on the tip of my tongue, filled with a mix of nerves and joy. "Because... I'm coming to Korea!" I exclaimed, my voice full of happiness and determination.

The look of shock on Jake's face was priceless. His jaw dropped, and I could see the gears turning in his mind. "Really?!" he shouted, his excitement bubbling over like a fountain. He jumped off his bed, energy radiating from him as he started bouncing around the room.

"What happened?!" Just then, I heard someone call out from the background. Jake turned toward them, and I guessed it was Heeseung since the voice sounded familiar.

"Heeseung hyung! My little sis is coming to visit!" Jake exclaimed, momentarily forgetting about the phone as he excitedly shook Heeseung's shoulders.

I couldn't help but laugh, enjoying his dramatic display of joy. "Who said anything about it being just a visit?" I teased, wanting to keep the suspense alive for a little longer.

Before Jake could respond, Heeseung interrupted, grabbing the phone from Jake's hand. "Oh, you're on FaceTime with her?" he realized, raising the phone to his face. His warm smile and wave greeted me, and I felt grateful for his friendly welcome.

I returned his gesture, giving Heeseung a small wave and a smile. I appreciated how welcoming he was, especially since I knew Jake was excited to have me come to see him. But just as quickly, Jake snatched the phone back.

"What do you mean, Riri?" Jake leaned in closer to the camera, his eyes wide with curiosity, eager for my next words. The excitement in the air felt almost tangible, and I could hardly wait to share my full story.

Taking a deep breath, I gathered my thoughts. This was the moment I had been waiting for, the moment I would finally reveal everything. I smiled at him, the thrill of sharing my news bubbling inside me. "I'm not just visiting. I'm moving to Korea!"

Jake was taken aback, his surprise leaving him momentarily speechless. Instead of jumping up and down with excitement this time, he covered his mouth with his hand, and I could see tears welling up in his eyes. He was so overwhelmed with emotion that he couldn't find the words to respond.

"Yah, are you crying?" I exclaimed, a laugh escaping my lips as I playfully teased my brother for being such a softie. Seeing Jake's tears made my heart swell with warmth and happiness.

"No, I'm not!" Jake insisted, his voice shaky as he sniffled and wiped away the tears that had trickled down his cheeks. Heeseung, who was standing nearby, couldn't help but laugh at Jake's emotional reaction, teasing him a little more.

Just then, a new voice interrupted the moment. "Where's my chips- Hyung, are you crying?... Did you lose another important Lego piece?" Niki called out from the background. His casual tone was a funny contrast to the emotional atmosphere in the room. As he spoke, Niki turned his gaze towards the phone and noticed me there.
