When you went back to Hogwarts everything felt numb. It has been a tiring day and all you wanted to do was go to your dorm before curfew. You rubbed your eyes as you walked through the halls and heard a familiar voice call out to you.

"MC! We've been looking for you!"

You turned to see Miriam run up to you with a smile, but it quickly faded when she saw your face.

"Sweetie? Are you okay?"

You took a deep breath and tried to show a small smile.

"I'm fine, Mrs. Fig. What's going on?"

You could tell she didn't believe you, but she also was not one to push you unless it was necessary, so she gave you a nod and grabbed your hand.

"Come, we must talk in the office, we've discovered something!"

When you arrived to Professor Fig's office he was standing over the desk with papers scattered- as usual. He turned to see you enter and clasped his hands together in excitement.
"Excellent, you're here! Come!"
He gestured you closer to reveal some notes and what looked like a answer key.

"We figured out the runes!" He exclaimed. "They don't spell anything out, however, they do all have around the same meaning."
You watched his fingers as he pointed out the meanings to you.

"Now, try to follow.
This one, ᚨ -A, for God.
ᛒ- B for Birth.
ᚺ- H for Transformation.
ᛚ- L for fertility.
ᛗ- M for manifestation.
ᛏ- T for masculine Gods or Warriors.
ᚢ- U for primal creative force.
ᛪ-X for Regeneration.
ᚤ- Y for Tree of life."

You stared at the parchments in confusion.

"Forgive me, I must be tired...What am I missing?"

Miriam placed a hand on your shoulder and leaned in next to you.

"What they all have in common is they are related to 'Creation', or 'God'."

Suddenly memories of the past few weeks flashed before you. The troll, the substance, the mongrels. It started to click. They both noticed your face and glanced at each other.

"Sweetie?" Miriam began. "Is there something we need to know?

"Maybe." You answered, still staring at the answer key. "There's a few things I need to find out first..." You grabbed the parchment and rolled it up. "May I? Please?"

"Yes of course dear, we have our own."

"Thank you. I'll update you as soon as I can, I promise!"

You ran out of the room before they could respond, placing the parchment in your robe and making your way to the potions classroom.

When you arrived at the classroom you peeked in around the door, Sharp was sitting at his desk scribbling on some parchment- his eyes furrowed and his back hunched over like he was trying to bury himself into his work.

You sighed before turning in and knocking on the door lightly.

"Professor Sharp..."

You saw him freeze at your voice, he looked up at you with wide eyes and dropped his quill. He stood up as you closed the door behind you and charmed it to lock for some privacy.

There was a silence as you approached his desk; you both didn't know what to say.

"...We missed you in class yesterday- and today." His voice and face were hard to read when he made his comment. When you did not answer he continued and walked around the desk, his uneven gait lighter than usual.
He sighed as he looked at you, his hands clasped together as he tried to find the words to say.
