Remember Noelani, the Hawaiian girl I had you meet forever ago? She just explained to me what the fuck Algebra II was.
I'm so glad I persued a career in literature instead of maths. What the hell does she mean y=-2(x-3)^2+4 needs to be placed on a graph. I looked at the problem she sent and my brain melted.
I will never question her again. She clearly knows more than me. Thea got it better than I did, but Thea is also very intellectual, top 5% of the country kind of intellectual. Honestly T scares me. She's 15 and competing in these big competitions, while working, while doing school. I fear that one day, she might snap, or even worse, our parents get to her.
Flor, whatever happens, promise you won't let them get to her. I have this nagging feeling and I just want to make sure that she's safe. Don't let them destroy her like they did to me. Promise me.
