The day was in its early stages.

6:00 to be exact.

Themis wanted to be in the common room when Rosier crossed through so she slipped out of bed, got changed and put her hair up, fastened with her wand, then exited the dorm and headed downstairs, notebook in hand.

The Slytherin common room was nothing if not elegant. The floors were made of polished dark wood and the ceiling was white arched marble that fell into the marble walls.

There were dark green curtains and silvery tapestries, and paintings and portraits of previous Slytherins adorning the walls. There was a large window, yet instead of sky, it was a window peering into the black lake. There was a large green rug with silver snake designs spanning the area with armchairs and couches and tables. Silver candelabras were everywhere and were dimly lit.

She walked over to and sat on a dark green emerald arm chair before she opened her book and started on an artifact idea to fill the time.

It was something that would work as a magic amplifier and controller, similar to a wand but that worked as a handicap to wandless magic so people could get a feel for it, sort of like training wheels. This was a project that Themis had all the information she needed for it, as she was quite proficient in wandless magic. She decided that a pair of bracelets would be the best item for the job, and she drew a rough sketch of the bracelets and the runes she would need to engrave for it to work.

She also choose to model the bracelets after a wand as they served the same basic function.

She continued to work on it as students of all ages trickled into and out of the common room, and she kept a keen eye out for Rosier.

Finally she spotted him when she was half way done the page on the bracelets. He unsurprising came in with his usual group of friends, all of them talking and laughing about something trivial, most likely their latest conquests or shiny new trinkets they had gotten for Yule which had been a week earlier. Abraxus, she noticed animatedly waving his hands about, actively explaining something, much like he had done when they were young.

Riddle was the exception, as he was walking in the middle of the group with a neutral mask donning his face.

Themis calmly stood up with an unmistakable gleam in her eye. She walked in a straight path to Rosier, her shoes clicking softly on the hardwood floor as soon as she stepped off of the serpentine carpet.

Maybe it was the determination in Themis' walk, but the group soon caught notice of her, and the conversation died out.

"Rosier? May I speak with you?"

Themis said this in a blunt tone, with none of the usual Slytherin coyness or subtlety.

Evan was rather shocked at her candid tone and about the fact that the quiet-as-a-mouse Themis Chevalier was speaking to him. Of course he didn't consider it a bad thing. He was curious on why she had quit her silent streak to talk to him, and it wasn't like she wasn't pleasing to look at.

Black and Nott were giving Evan knowing smirks at this point, no doubt thinking that the young Chevalier wanted to do much more than talk, while Malfoy had an unreadable expression plastered across his face and Riddle just looked plain bored.

"Of course, Miss. Chevalier." Evan said with his eyebrow raised.

Themis couldn't care less about his eyebrow and just grinned.

"Perfect."

The smirks on Nott and Black's faces only got that much wider when Themis grabbed Evan's arm and pulled him out of the common room.
